Johnny Depp let the title slip at the D23 expo today and then they released the image.

I hope it's got way more identical brigs for people to be thrown into.

I hate these movies, even Johnny Deep acting like a drunk pirate couldn't make them entertaining.

If you had seen the third one, they leave it wide open for an awesome sequel. This is probably going to suck, though.

I was hoping the ending to that last one was a pitch at being tragically romantic.

Well, I liked that the series began to take a "Let's take these characters and have them visit well-known myths and tales" turn, kind of like the Hellboy comics and his interactions with Eastern-European folklore, but At World's End sucked so much ass they'd probably ruin the Fountain of Youth just as well.

I go into the Pirates movies expecting to not make any sense of the story.  I find them entertaining although I have no reason to watch them again.  Still fun times.  Its probably some of the best CG work I've witnessed like... since Jurassic Park.  First time seeing davy jones up close  :o

He's not in it? I can get somewhat excited I guess. But then again they sure ruined Depp's character in the third, and some people would say in the second film as well.

I really liked POTC2 though, much more than POTC1

I still love the first two Pirates movie, the third one left a bad taste in my mouth though.

YEAH, that's what I'm wondering, too. It'd be amazing if they actually did adapt that story to this world they've extended. But the level of bombast and overwrought CG in the 3rd one was so bad, I don't think they could manage the grace of that Powers novel.

I thought the sequels were dull and unwatchable.

I fell asleep during the second one. I always thought that people who said they fell asleep during movies were being overdramatic, but there you go. After that I didn't even bother with the third.

These movies are adequate but I have no hype for a new one.

I really think this is one of these franchises that was born and was popularized out of the whole "ninja vs. pirates" internet meme shit.

Internet hype has proven time again to mean next to nothing in the real world. The POTC movies have made several billion dollars worldwide, so I'd say its appeal extended pretty far beyond some internet meme.
