The thing I hated about skating games was their assumption that the gamer was knowledgeble about skating.

I was very cynical when they announced it since it's been like 2 and a half year or something since the first broke out and EA has gutted Black Box, but Hardcore mode brought me back to the fold. :'(

Well, Skate 3 was meant to be a mostly online experience this time around. I agree that I hate online achievements, but me and my buds love this series, especially with the addition of challenges from Skate 2.

I've never played multi-player online. And about 400~500 hours of local multi. And local multi sucks ass, like, rancid ass... If 3 had some sort of way to set up your own "own the spot" sessions and what-not so we didn't have to rely on the ghastly shit that blackbox puts in it'll be game of the forever.

I've only played the demo ten or so times but it seems pretty fucking sublime.

Some issues that makes my penis hard;
replay editor is still shitty,
animation is still shitty which makes certain lines look shitty because of the ass animation,
the darkslide is stiff as fuck

Other than that I haven't found much to bitch about. Hopefully the graphic creator tool is awesome so I can recreate my SC knock-off decks and hopefully the carriere isn't shit like 1 and 2 (probably shittier with the added focus on online). And the offline multi-player, which is where this game lives or dies for me as a game of the forever contender.

I tried playing this demo. Never touched Skate 2. Couldn't get into Skate.

Really liked that you could play with a normal camera view now.
60fps yay!

Game froze on me during a challenge :\ It kind of lowers my interest in a game when the demo that is trying to impress me crashes. It wasn't even a hard crash as I could still change the music tracks but it got stuck at the end of a bail and froze and I had to turn off the system :\

Also didn't like how I kept skating out of the demo area. I couldn't figure out where I was actually allowed to be skating so I could mess around and try tricks. Is there a skate park in the demo?

No, but you can drop items anywhere you are and make your own in the demo. Kicker ramps, rails, QPs, etc.

Gaming budget is very limited at the moment, so will not be getting this straight away. Skate 2 online had plenty of legs so I wont suffer too much if I hold off for a month or two.

This game is so fun. Everything is online based, you can just chill with your CREW and do challenges, or face other teams. Sometimes you get lucky and face uneven teams.

The servers or something are garbage at the moment though. I'll post links to my skate team and shit when its all better.

Overall though this is skate through and through. Shame I cant transfer my graphics from Skate 2, have to remake it again.

You can play the entire game offline, but the online is just a way to play with your friends. You can do majority of the challenges with your friends and it will count towards your career score. Similar to Rock Band 2.

The achievements arent really that hard either. There's one that requires you to play in a Freeskate with 6 people from your team, which is probably the gayest one.
