Mario & Luigi 3
« on: September 16, 2009, 02:51:29 AM »
M3 came through, and now I am playing it  8)

I've been playing for about 5 hours now (just beat the first boss I guess? the squid statue).

Initial impression is that it is probably the best one so far, easily. M&L2 doesnt exist after playing this. Lots of talking for tutorial bullshit though. No gay ass babies to juggle. Instead, you use X and Y for controlling Bowser. You alternate between doing stuff with Bowser above ground, then you can swap inside his body to play as M&L and do stuff that will affect Bowser outside, or vice versa.

You use this method in battle as well. You can suck in enemies with Bowser, who then get plopped in front of M&L who proceed to lay some italian fat cock into their pipes. You can then knock them out of Bowser who shoves his spiny cock into them as well. Great animation.

One thing that stands out as gay is having to find 10 puzzle pieces in each "hub" which grants you a bonus special attack.

Do you have to play the first two games to enjoy this one? Are the stories connected with each other?

It just has a villain from the first two but no they aren't directly related.

You played for 5 hours and you're only at the squid statue?  Jesus, did you level up for three of those hours?

I'm in no rush

Also, the game is ridiculously easy. Haven't had any trouble yet. Considering this game is mostly based on reflexes, I have it on lock so nothing touches me.

Only an hour or so in, still seems like I'm the tutorial, but it's pretty fun.  I'm liking the gimmick it uses.

The game uses Bowser too much.

I was like "so... where do mario & luigi fit in?" and for like the first looooooooooooooooooooooong bit you play as Bowser who is an absolute bore to play as. Then finally you get to play as M&L for a bit, who are much funner and challenging to use.

yeah, playing as Bowser isn't as fun and even easier.  Does the game ever open up more? now it seems like a really linear go here, switch to Mario and Luigi, switch to Bowser, etc.  I still think it's doing the tutorial stuff close to 3 hours in, but I'm hoping there are more puzzle type stuff later on.

After some more time, I am going to have to relegate this to second place. The reason for this is that there is way too many stupid mini games. Having to make Bowser sneeze, cool that's fine. But move a few screends forward, and guess what, you're gonna make him sneeze again. Annoying, not fun, and stupid. Second place.

how long is this game supposed to be? I'm at the
spoiler (click to show/hide)
Fatty Bowser stuck in floor

part and it's really boring.  It still feels like an introduction and too much time is spent on stupid mini-games and shit like that.  I keep expecting it to open up and become a proper game.  I've been playing for six hours already and it's still just dragging me through the linear quest.
