Food is very good here, but Brugge is very touristy (too much if you ask me) so you're not going to get the best stuff there. Belgians/flemings often drink special beers, so very strong, from 5° to 12°. When japs come to visit my brother they're always drunk after one or two beers.

DCharlie, I wouldn't advise to try out french in flaanders. Better to use english if you know that. Some people are fed up with always trying to service the french part by speaking their language, an effort they are notorious for not to reciprocate in the past although things are changing slowly. People will still be friendly but more people here know english than french either way.

Brussels is pretty cool, international. I suggest you do some research since I don't know where to begin with such a broad question. My brother just moved to Brussels the day before yesterday.
In Brussels, go to the cafe Delirum, they have over 2000 different kinds of beers. It's amazing, their menu is like a phone book.

Somebody irl life tells me it's easy to get a contract job there, some blog tells me it's insanely hard. I don't know what to believe. I think I need a work permit b, which means some running around.

A 2hr train journey every 20 minutes to Paris, 1 and half hour journey to the Uk, 210 km to the German border etc. Also there is quite a bit of short term contract work and a few multinationals there.

Are you from Poland? If you are, is there still a special deal with the EU where there's no free movement of labour? What kind of job are you looking for?

I'm from Australia. Work basically business analysis maybe marketing. Basically I have a couple of 'options':
1) working holiday
2) Try and get an internship or a job and get sponsored to work in Belgium by a company
3) self-employed i.e contractor

I'd really like to gain some experience so 2 and 3 are preferable. I need to do a shitload of homework on this though.
