Do DSi firmware updates render flash carts useless or is there a way you can update the carts to get around new firmware?  I'm thinking about getting a DSi when Shantae comes out, but I still want to 'rent' games.

Released yet?

archie, you can update most of the flash carts to 1.4 through various methods, but the official 1.4 update for the DS did render some cards worthless for a while.  It's best to keep the DS at an older OS until a fix is released.

Cool.  Acekard2i is the king now, yeah?  I haven't kept up with the DS scene in a long time.

That's the one I have and I love it, but I think it was one of the last cards to get an update figured out for 1.4.  The team didn't even figure out the update process, last I checked.

I think demi's a fan of the M3 cards or whatever.

edit:  oh fuck that, it only works with that particular flash cart.  nevermind, damn.

You need the iPlayer to run the GBA emulator. It doesnt run NDS roms, but it runs homebrew and can run AVIs and other video formats.

I guess that's a start. Don't even know the last time I turned my DS on.
