Looks like there's already a 160kbps rip: http://www.sendspace.com/file/8oqlwx The stream only has 15 songs, so I guess technically it isn't the entire album.

It's reeeeeeeeeal mellow, even compared to their last 2 albums, but I'm liking it so far

Is it any good? I really loved At War with the Mystics and their previous stuff (Yoshimi, Soft Bulletin). Their live show rocks too! :rock

Sounds better than At War with the Mystics, but I wasn't a big fan of that one. I've only heard the first 4 songs, though.

Fuck yeah, great week for music.  New Islands album, Monster of Folk album, and this.  Yoshimi is my favorite album from them and At War with the Mystics was okay, hoping this one reaches the quality of Yoshimi!

Yeah, I think so.  It's much more like a Unicorns album, if you're into that.  I still like Return to the Sea the best, but Vapours is a pretty fun glitch pop record.  Like it a lot.

You might like 'em Willco - check out Return to the Sea by Islands.  If not, i's coo'

Stopped listening to the Flaming Lips album; I don't think I'm in any sort of mood for it right now.  Sounded a lot like AWWTM.  I'll get it in a couple weeks.

That one song they did with Busdriver is a fucking burner!

I saw them perform Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots live, and this guy next to me was tripping out. It was hysterical. :lol

Wayne knows how to work an audience - they're a great live act. Pretty under appreciated band, though.

I'm ignorant to this, what did Arcade Fire do?

... Islands is what used to be the Unicorns? Oh, that's pretty cool. I will have to give them a spin. I really dug And Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? when that came out.

I used to play it overnight at Target when I worked with Disposable White Guy. :lol

Wayne just called out Arcade Fire after they played a show together, saying that they treated their fans like shit.  I might be wrong about that now though after thinking about it, I think Wayne later came out and meant the crew that worked with Arcade Fire and not the band itself.  Still, I like how Wayne really cares about the crowds, and it shows in their concerts.

Yeah Islands is Nick Thorburn's current band.  The newest album that just leaked is much more like a Unicorns album than his last two; Return to the Sea and Arm's Way involved a lot of orchestration and string instruments and the albums are full of songs that are epic build-ups, for the most part, with fun poppy songs scattered in between.  The new one, Vapours, is like the oppposite - glitch synth pop for the most part.

I want to say that this is my favorite release from them since The Soft Bulletin, but I don't know how much of that is just the novelty talking. It sounds really dark (in a good way), and I think that's partially attributable to the heavier bass. They definitely could have trimmed out some filler, but there are a shitload of great songs to compensate. I honestly don't know which track is my favorite.

I remember seeing The Flaming Lips at Coachella for the first time, and Wayne came out in a bubble to crowd surf in the audience. He got on stage and told us he wanted the bubble to descend from the sky, but the logistics didn't work out - so he told us to lie and tell everyone he came from the sky and "they will believe it because it's fucking Coachella!"

It was fun times. :lol
