the new animes have been ranging from decent to complete garbage.

Even this latest season is filled with uninteresting crap or slightly tolerable stuff due to adapting its manga.

but the TV series focuses on a friend of that chick and 3 new girls with the same power who become her bodyguards while the librarian chick has gone missing.

I do not like anime.

It is clearly a different culture than one I'm used to.  A lot of filler build up episodes, overexaggerated emotions (near mute or extremely aggressive males, same goes for the females; there is little in between), the art styles look pretty much the same, and the general creepiness of the fans ruin the experience as well.

I watched the clip.  I knew there was a Halo universe set up but I don't care much for scifi.
