Just made my first vinyl

Just slapped it on any car so I could take a pic... I think it came out pretty decent.

Oh yeah, I should mention this is on the storefront for 1000CR.

As someone who usually doesn't like sims, this game is pretty awesome so far.

Same thing with the Koeingsegg CCGT. I took that out on the high speed ring, and I was drifting through the turns at 205 MPH. Several times, I thought I was going to crash.

I have no qualms about using it and I absolutely adore it as a feature. Like the rest of the game, my goal is to increase my skill so I can reduce some of the assists and reduce my use of the rewind but as a feature it's absolutely brilliant.

Yeah, the rewind feature is awesome. If it didn't exist, it would just be like every other racing game. It really lets you try out some interesting and risky moves, though. In the past, if I wasn't 100% sure I could overtake a car on a turn, I wouldn't gun for it. Now, I can try out different strategies to get ahead, if one fails then I can just try a different one.

It also removes the inevitable frustrations of these games where you've got a good lead until the end, but mess up the final turn and watch in horror as your opponents pass by you and the last 10 minutes were for nothing. Not anymore! Ain't no one taking my victory from me!

It's pretty awesome. I was restarting races all the time in Forza 2 if I ate the pooch. I thought this would break the game, but it doesn't -- it lets you work on your technique. It's not like you're playing some game with quick rewind and save states. It's more like "back up 10 seconds and try taking that turn the right way." Dunno. I like it...though I do think it will make competition a lot harder on the leaderboards

I actually like the way they handle this aspect.

Certification guide:

Forza 3 contains two different types of lap times. Certified and uncertified. Certified times are always ranked higher than uncertified times, no matter how fast they are.

To uncertify your times, there are a few things that could happen:

* Go off track
* Hit a wall
* Hit another car
* Rewind
* Having certain assists on

etc

I think the best rewind function would be a combo of Codemasters and Turn 10 systems:

- using rewind invalidates leaderboard times completely (Codies)
- higher difficulties decreases the rewinds available in career mode (Codies)
- you have infinite rewinds when doing time runs so you can work on a particular corner as much as you like (Turn 10)
- you can rewind as far as you want (Turn 10)
- you can rewind to a specific point (Codies)

I like the time certification in Forza though, it helps with that first point.

I started dicking around with drifting with an Evo on Fujimi Kaido tonight and lost well over an hour to it. I never got the hang of it in the prior Forzas but once it clicked, I couldn't stop. I was sliding and screeching around like it was PGR. So much fun. I eventually decided that I would keep going 'til I won an actual race while drifting on every possible corner. I stuck a vid of the result up on my storefront if anyone is into that sort of thing. It's actually pretty fun to watch 'cause I just rewinded my way out of any horrible mistakes!

I'm just watching the replay now. I love how the cars are about to take a perfect line but have to hit the skids because your car is sideways around every corner.

glad you enjoyed the replay, bildi. They've done a great job with the replays this time - they used to be pretty weak in FM1/2 compared to the GT series, but now they're top-notch. It's also great fun to dl ghosts of the top racers and watch in the cockpit view.

I can't remember what they were like in Forza and I didn't play much Forza 2, but replays are pretty good here. I'd probably prefer a few more shots where the car isn't so centered on screen, but that's pretty minor.

It would be nice to be able to spin the camera around the car in replays, would make finding a nice spot for a photo a bit easier. Maybe Forza 4.

im pretty sure you can

change the cam to the 3rd person in game mode and it should work

at least it did in the demo

lol. Will do. That'll probably help the top speed as well, right? I love this game but can't tune for shit.

I'm hoping to make a scraper soon. Game needs to be updated to allow 24's and Buick LeSabres. Plus whistle tips.

I've never seen this in a racing game before. I tried take what looked like a shortcut but it actually turns out it was a pit stop lane. So the game takes over and drives me into a spot, stops, and then everything is repaired and I have control again.
