Katamari Forever thread
« on: September 23, 2009, 10:20:03 PM »

Is anyone anywhere playing this? It was released on the same day as OSTD for $50 so I'm guessing no. If I had a PS3 and this thing cost $20 like the original did I'd go for it.

I liked the first two on the PS2 when they were, what?, $30?

Haven't really been interested in the series since then.

It's like $37 at Amazon after ECA discount & AMZNKATA $5 off code.

Still, I can't support Namco whoring the franchise out despite the creator's intentions to leave it at one (although forced into making two) games.  I feel like it's his franchise and only he can make a good game with it.

It doesn't really help that the Katamari Damacy hit in 2004 and there's been FIVE sequels since then.

That was the awesome thing about the first two. Since they were cheaper in price, I was more inclined to pick them up. I'll wait until a price drop of some variety before I bite.

I paid full price for the 360 one and enjoyed it for what it was. 1080p and a bunch of filters isn't enough to get me to bite again, it's no longer interesting.

Yes, I don't see how many gamers would buy this at $50.  I download the demo to give it a chance but even if that made a good impression, there's no way I'm paying $50 for a game like this.

Have you played The Wonderful End of the World on Steam? It's basically the same sort of thing as Katamari.

The JP demo felt strained. I won't be buying this.

Man, Namco has been really frickin bad about DLC this gen, see also Ace Combat 6, Soul Calibur 4, Ridge Racer 6-7, etc.
