The gameplay looks exactly like the first one but with better controls. Best game ever confirmed.

If the save system is the same or at least not too pussified, this game will be a good sequel. The combat looks great and time management was confirmed awhile ago.

Of course they'll pussify it.

he'll automatically attack as soon as he's near zombies, he'll have a regenerating leather coat shield, he'll have a visor that shows him codes that kill all the zombies at once, the game will not only save automatically but skip you ahead a little bit as a courtesy each time, and it'll be completely fucking linear.

but they'll hire a couple of good voice actors to deliver some fan service lines and everyone will eat it up as GOTY.

Outside of a few awesome titles like Mirror's Edge PC, Red Faction III, Batman: AA, that's pretty much how I feel too.

It's alright, but I hope the game keeps the DR1 structure.  Running around killing zombies is fun when it's done on top of doing some real goal; when the goal is simply to kill zombies it just becomes another Dynasty Warrior game.  Hopefully it's all escort missions and bosses and things again.  And yeah I hate escort missions too, but I'd rather be escorting someone from point A to B then just "stay alive for 10 mins while killing zombies".  They had that mode in DR1 but it was a bonus mode because it's less fun than the real game.

If the save system is the same or at least not too pussified.

They'd be smart to offer both a normal save system and the original one.

how the fuck would that be smart? theres already too many games out there that cater for pussies.

What I dont get is why people complained about the original save setup anyhow, you could go to the bathroom and save your fucking game anytime!

There's no need this time to pussify the save system. The combat is a lot easier apparently and you can even walk into a cash machine for easy points.  I guess the bosses will be a lot less frustrating now that you can move and shoot at the same time.

L4D works because it's you and three other people against hordes of zombies. The only way to survive is to work together.

This.

To be honest these videos didnt really excite me or show me anything that made DR1 one of the best games of this gen. The core of DR1 is the panic feeling of rushing through mobs of zombies to get somewhere on time, add a campy zombie story and many ways to kill zombies and youre all but done. This looks a lot easier and less panicky and more like "just go and kill zombies".  Escorting missions where a vital part of the original too.

That said staying alive for 10 min can be exciting too if done right, just look at Left 4 Dead.

DEMO! It's a demo! The DR1 demo was just as structureless. This game still has time management exactly like the first game.

I didn't give the original one a fair shake. I'll be sure to play this day one. Seems better than the first.

what makes you think that based off only a few trailers and at most, 10 minutes of gameplay footage without anything that made DR so unique?

Looks like dead rising 1.5, to me.

the problem with giving the sequel to a completely different team from the one that worked on the original, is that the new team will obviously have no clue on what direction to take the series, so what they'll do is add more content and fix stuff of the original. I wish the original team worked on this instead, maybe they would've taken the franchise in a direction that felt fresh after playing DR1.

I'll await more media and information, but so far I'm not impressed. Needs more Frank, too.

The last fire emblem I played was the gamecube game, I haven't played any other. I got bored of the franchise.

And come on aside from core gameplay mechanics, each individual DQ game always has something that separate it from the rest.

i don't know how DR2 couldn't feel fresh, even if it's just an upgrade.  it's kinda hard to get stale when the prequel is one of a kind (and fucking awesome at what it did.)  it would have to be a DMC2/Xenosaga II/Ninja Gaiden 2 style fuck up.  but with the original guys working with the new team, I don't think that'll happen.

Exactly. I don't know why you'd be upset that DR2 is a lot like DR1. DR1 isn't like any other game. There's no reason to change the formula because the formula is still very fresh.
