So when did mainstream news become youtube comments?
« on: September 26, 2009, 07:42:04 PM »
Example:

Why do they have illiterates sending in questions?  Isn't that what an interviewer is supposed to do?  I don't even understand this strategy.  What makes CNN et al think that I'm going to choose watching blog posts on tv instead of just reading the blog?

User-generated content in news media is a dumb trend.

Also, Glenn Beck is just full of mannerisms, isn't he?  He's just so affected.

I think that's the inevitable result of any encounter Beck has with a mainstream news personality.

His fans will see any confrontation as part of the big conspiracy to take America away from Americans.  Anyone who's capable of figuring out he's an idiot has already done so.

Orthography aside, that was a pretty good question as the ensuing trainwreck showed.

Shame on CNN for using user-generated news content as a front for a liberal media hit job on Beck :bow

I'm sure he's a loony conservative but I doubt he believes most of the crazier shit he says

Nah, per Beck himself he was high or drunk pretty much every day of his life between ages 17 and 31.  As someone who knows a little bit about substance abuse, you can't get that fucked up for that long on a consistent basis without utterly ruining your brain.  I mean fuck, some days I'm barely smarter than YOU, Maurice.  Only on my bad days, tho.

Beck definitely strikes me as genuinely loony, though it may be genuine loonitude mixed with opportunistic loonitude
