I ate some spaghetti tonight, and now it's all flared up. The tomato sauce (with the garlic) will do that. First the acid reflux kicks in, then the chest pain and tightness (which spreads down to my left arm and back), and then some heart palpitations/fluttering for good measure, and a few of my fingers went numb for a few seconds. That usually lasts for half and hour to an hour, sometimes longer. I thought I was having a heart attack the first time it happened, but no it's just a hiatal hernia, take some Nexium and you'll be fine, they tell me. The Nexium usually works too, but I've had this thing flare up three times in the past four nights, and it really sucks balls. :'( Of course it doesn't help that I don't not eat the stuff that I know will make me sick. But, you know, most of the time it doesn't, so it's like "Do I take the risk?" I really need to start eating better and get in shape.

Ahhh, anyway, while I was focused on writing this, the pain has subsided. Thank you TUMS.
