I hate to turn this into Sales-Bore, but I'm happy to see Yakuza 2 do so well. Love or hate the first game, there's no denying the franchise has a shitton of potential and is the best original IP Sega's done in the past 5 years. Hooray for Nagoshi!

Have you let curiosity get the best of you and read spoilers about the story?  I'm intersted in knowing exactly what areas the game takes place in, and how long it is in comparison to the first one, and if the story is of the same comparable high quality as the first game.

I know that it reuses Kamurocho, and that a lot of it takes place in Osaka. Dunno about other locations. One of the most fun things about the first game was sidetrips to places like

especially since I'd lived in Tokyo and new these places.

Early reports are that the story is as good as the first one; maybe even improved by the Osaka dialects and setting. The consensus is that the standard of the first game is upheld. The amount of story and sidequest contents sound to be about double the first one.

There's still tiny loads on the field map when the camera changes (boo), but battle streaming has been improved greatly.

I think the most important thing, though, is that you can be a host. And if you can convince your...Jane? to purchase the most expensive alcohol in the bar for you, all the other hosts will sing a song for you. This is actually very authentic to the bar experience in Japan. I got taken a few time to a Filipina hostess bar where if you sang a certain song on karaoke, they would all get up and do a booty-shaking dance. So that song got sung about twice an hour. Life in Japan's semi-seedy side-belly is ludicrous!

Wind Waker so far has better dungeons, and the beginning of it wasn't quite as bad as the beginning of TP.  And let's not forget that Wind Waker looks better than TP despite being years older.
