1.3 gigs, so with usual PSN speeds I should have ample time to locate my headset. Who's up for co-op tonight?

Oh, and review embargo is up. Sounds like it might be pretty fucking good. A 9.5 from IGN is to be expected for anything high profile, but a 10/10 from EG is a bit more rare.

and is there an Edge score? Eurogamer doesn't really mean anything.

if the demo is the same as the early access one, then it's versus and co-op. Multiplayer has usual team deathmatch, the CTF mode and survival mode (no respawn). Co-op is the horde CTF mode (it's horde, except the goal isn't to survive, it's to take gold from one location to another; sometimes it gets hard since you need to toss the gold onto higher ledges and hope your team mates are smart enough to be up there) and the more single player-like linear co-op. It's a pretty loaded demo. I'm actually probably going to go play now.

Not yet, but I doubt it would appear silently no matter what the score is. I have had an issue with Eurogamer since that Hailstorm debacle, but I ended up ~~agreeing almost completely with their KZ2 review and~~ disagreeing just as much with the Infamous one, so we'll see.

edit: never mind, it was the Edge review of KZ2 that I felt was spot on.

It doesn't exactly help that a decent chunk of the GAF Official thread regulars are by their own admission there squarely for the reviews. Try posting something about the game, and you'll get yelled at for posting spoilers. So basically, anything worthwhile will be blacked out.

If anyone else played co-op, you should try it again on crushing. I guess because the others are a high level they can do crushing (I think the hardest) and it's really hard. The heavy armored boss characters get spawned with the regular guys throughout, and sometimes two at a time.

Were there different difficulty settings in the previous beta? Can't recall, but I suck too bad to go above whatever the default difficulty was.

Don't think so. I just became level 10 and now I can choose Hard. The person I'm playing with is 49 or 50, so they can do Crushing.

After crushing we did easy and I did an almost complete melee run.

I can't imagine anything about the demo that will spoil a major surprise in Uncharted 2's. Actually, I'd be shocked if there were anything in Uncharted 2's story that would make someone go OMG. Uncharted 1's story was so poorly written that not even the final surprise had any effect on me. In terms of the technical wow factor, I'm sure the campaign mode will have better visuals than what is in this MP demo.

Co-op is the reason I like the multiplayer so much. Regular multiplayer is alright and all, but horde ctf and that regular co-op are so much fun. Still haven't finished a round of horde ctf. Got to level 9 but it gets insane by then. You can't let enemies get near you or else they'll grab you, there are snipers everywhere (one hit knock-down), super strong enemies, then the super crazy strong chaingun boss enemies. One round had FIVE of the chaingun bosses at the goal, we shot one of them with three RPG rockets and he didn't die. It was ridiculous.

Don't know about one person in the full game. I've played one match where it was myself and another, but most have been with the total of three players. It's not competitive, btw. The short burst co-op mode is basically single player turned into short 10 minute levels that can be played with two others.

i was on the other beta that ran a few months back - absolutely fantastic.

I feel , however, that U2 is getting degraded somewhat due to past hype noise for games that were merely "good" (or in somecases worse) - this is about the 10th game being hyped up to the rafters and, for me, the first one that is a legitimate absolute balls out FUCK ME game.

I don't buy into the Eurogamer money hat or Edge anti-PS3 conspiracy and most who do usually blurt it out from the window of the pre-release hype train, having not played the game at all.

I fully expect an Edge 10 for U2 - hopefully it has the dual effect of rubberstamping this games awesomeness in peoples minds and finally putting to rest all the "bu bu Edge hate sony" nonsense.

Edge will give it a 9
