I think part of the charm was the shoddy CGI. I doubt a 2009 version will be good.

The show has always sucked. 90% of the appeal was the CG. I wasn't aware anyone liked anything else about it. Nostalgiatards owned. VR Troopers was better, even though both shows were bland as fuck (riding entirely on CG), but I thought Kaitlin was pretty cute. ReBoot people looked like ass.

Most people fondly remember 90s cartoons because the average age of people discussing this shit is in their twenties - who would have been under 10 when most of this stuff came out. Most cartoons in the 90s were pretty bad.

The first season was weak. As a 10 year old in 1994, however, it was enjoyable.

The second and third (and the fourth, to a lesser degree), however, were fuck awesome. Season-long storylines, mature themes, tragic characters, while still maintaining an offbeat humour that I loved.

And Megabyte chewing scenario like a motherfucker. Best animated villain ever.

RIP, Tony Jay, I almost think it's not worth doing any more ReBoot without him.

Not gonna lie, this was my personal "death of Optimus Prime" moment of my childhood. And then it took them FOUR FUCKING YEARS to make the next season after this cliffhanger:

And, I admit, I loved the show's cheesy, VERY repetitive, CSI Miami-quality catchphrases. Sort of like the Star Wars "I've got a bad feeling about this" line, you expected this line every other episode:
