It sort of makes sense, in that him not being GWB or McCain basically means that the only superpower in the world is no longer a rogue-nation - that's a pretty big benefit for world peace.

"Not being shitty" isn't much as far as tangible accomplishments go, it probably should've gone to someone else.

I personally think it's pretty cool. I think regardless of tangible results, he has definitely changed the International climate in a positive way. And he's definitely working on reaching out to other countries; I never would've thought that America would have a tighter relationship with France than the UK a year ago.

And even Russia is coming around!

... and furthermore, regardless of all the political stuff, as a sitting black President for one of the world's largest powers, he has become a symbol for overcoming racial adversity. If anything, they should've awarded him the prize on that merit.

I do agree with ToxicAdam, that in some regards this will fuel conservatives to attack him on what he hasn't done.
