If Cloud and Jarsoh aren't interested in running it this year, I'd gladly take over. I'm done with GAF Secret Santa, though. It got way too big and too many people ended up getting ripped off that it's more of a headache than fun.

That said, I'd love to take part in Secret Santa once more!

I've had REALLY good years and really weird years.

Obviously Cherubae's gift was king, the giant Yoshi blanket. But I'm still trying to figure out who sent me this little package of Japanese food. It came around late January after the person already told me once that because it was late, I was going to get something awesome. I felt ripped off because I have no clue what it was worth. On Something Awful, the first year I ever did it, I got a fisting dildo.

Last year worked out REALLY well. I like participating on multiple forums, just because it's more surprises from different people.

Well, two reasons.
One, it was very late and the person actually promised to make up for that fact.
Two, it seemed they didn't do any research on me at all and just sent random crap.
They put the bare minimum into it, it seemed. An after-thought in the gift shop at an airport.

I understand it's about giving and not getting, but I'd rather no gift than get my hopes up and let me down. I just wanted to compare/contrast the best and worst experiences.

I thought SS worked liked a chain letter or sorts, meaning gifts aren't exchanged, you're only assigned to random member and that member is then assigned to another, and so on, keeping the secret angle.

That's exactly how it works. It is nice to know if your person received their gift, but there is no need to get all pissy about it.

I'm done running GAF Secret Santa. It got way too big and unwieldy. EB is much smaller and close-knit, so there shouldn't be too much drama and heartache.
