After playing that UFC game for the 360, I've been wishing wrestling games would use the same mechanics. Although I haven't played a Wrestling game in years (some of the most fun I've had was playing Wrestlemania against four friends and family members).

Don't watch RAW, it's even worse than ever. The PG-13 direction they went in brought it down even more. Now it's like a bad SNL rip-off with the wrasslin' instead of all skits.

The create a storyline feature sounds awesome, but it's also pretty limited, according to the IGN review. You can only use CAW characters 10 times MAX in the entire mode...WTF?

That is true. Maybe form some fusion where you beat the crap out of each other but health comes in the form of Stamina. You deplete you opponents Stamina enough and it will allow you to do a finishing move.

Playing against the computer annoys me in these games. You either put it on Legend difficulty and have a reversal-fest, or turn the sliders down for the reversals and stomp the computer. There was never a good middle ground for difficulty in these games to have good back and forth matches IMO.

God help me, I just bought this. I want to make PPVs so bad.

Ideas:

-- Fur and Loathing: A group of furries called the "Fursome Foursome" invade the WWE, bringing several low-tier WWE Superstars(tm) into their stable. In the final match the Foursome are unmasked, with shocking results.

-- WWE Unearthed: It's All Hallows Eve, and the WWE Superstars(tm) are ready for a night of scares. But Vince McMahon(tm) detects something more sinister in the air, and his worst fears come to life as deceased WWE Superstars(tm) return from the dead to wreak one night of havoc on the aging billionaire. Who will be the ultimate survivor in the final BURIED ALIVE match between Vince McMahon and Owen Hart?

Xbox 3shizzle, I assume that version is 60fps (PS3 versions of Smackdown have apparently been at 30fps and upscaled from some balls ass resolution)

I played some of the DS version a few hours ago, and it is actually very similar to No Mercy. You can easily tell they based their game engine off that. Now that's not to say it's as good as No Mercy, as it's really stiff, limited and kinda janky in comparison, but it's a step in the right direction. I'll probably pick it up myself once I have some spare money.

edit: also, the ladder match is awful in the DS version.

OK the gameplay seems actually pretty good this time around, though I haven't played SvR for years. Downloading a created story to get a feel for how they work.

Downloading CAWs takes a lot of time. Considering they're just a series of pointers that's kind of weird

Only 50 slots for CAWs...that can't be good

Also, I hear the create-a-storyline only lets you use 10 CAW appearances - is that much of a problem? I wouldn't think it would be, if you kept your storylines short or broke them into parts.

Hold on, I think they fucked up the create a story. Apparently you can only use CAWs ten times per story. That's PER INSTANCE, so if Marcus Fenix appears in 3 cutscenes then thats's 3/10. Try to tell a Tag Team Story and that fills up really quick. WTF is the matter with their engineering staff

The story creator is pretty much god if you restrict yourself to pre-existing wrestlers. Once you start using CAWs you have to be pretty cautious with how many times you use them, but I work creatively within insane limitations.....I mean, I work in the game industry, that's what you DO
