Disposable White Guy, my brother, myself and maybe one or two others will kick off the 13th Annual Federman Halloween Festival of Lights tomorrow.

I went out and got some neat decorations (Disposable White Guy will think they're all flaming homo) - outfitting the basement into a screening area made up with lights, life size skeletons, lanterns, motion sensors, etc. I believe my brother is going to attempt to get a fog machine.

We'll be getting growlers of pumpkin ale from a local microbrew, and probably a case of Octoberfest. Also, a stash of candy, and more importantly - our famous nachos. Created by my mom in her youth, and passed down to us, they are immaculate morsels of deliciousness that are so unhealthy that we only dare to eat them once a year.

Planning to watch The Entity, The House of the Devil, Drag Me to Hell and Night of the Creeps tomorrow.

The centerpiece of Halloween is AMC's digitally restored and remastered Night of the Living Dead, though.

I'm not usually a fan, but we melt it until it's liquid and combined with the Hormel and a few other secret ingredients (read: semen) - it's pretty awesome.

That doesn't really make me feel better. Not only have I run into a few snags with rubbers already, but I'm a byproduct of both parents using protection. I just have to look in the mirror to realize that condoms are not foolproof.

The annual start of the Federman Festival of Lights was a massive success, but Disposable White Guy and I learned a harsh reality - we can no longer consume large quantities of junk food that were easy pickings for us in our youth. I think he left with a sour stomach.

I will be doing nightly marathons until Halloween, and ending the month in style - beer, food and films.

The unrated cut is almost identical to the theatrical cut - which you liked - and goes to show you that there was no crazy watering down of the source material for monetary reasons. It's pretty obvious that the original intention was a PG-13 rating.
