I splurged on some kung-fu movies:

Back when I was really into kung-fu movies about 7 or 8 years ago, the state of KFC on DVD in the US was pretty pathetic. There was Drunken Master, Enter the Dragon, and a bunch of ultra-budget releases of Grade-C Sonny Chiba, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Li movies, and that was pretty much it. Things look a lot better now, a lot more Shaw Bros movies have found their way to Region 1 thanks to Celestial Picture's restoration. I had a bunch of their Region 3 Shaw Bros releases, but my region-free player broke, and I replaced it with a $50 Cyberhome player, and then that broke too, so I just sold all of them.
Watched
The 36th Chamber of Shaolin this afternoon and remembered how awesome those old-school kung-fu movies are.
