The Dreamcast was the shit. Definitely had a lot of fun playing multiplayer games with that thing. San Francisco Rush 2049 is still worth plugging it in for!

The Dreamcast overall was not that great IMO, but it did have about 20-30 games that were very good and well worth owning.

Yeah, and all those games came out in like a year and a half.

I prefer JSRF to JSR.  It looked better and although it was easy, I thought it was the better game.

You couldn't beat Sonic Adventure just by pressing forward.  There were some awful platforming bits in it.  Sad to say it's still the best 3d Sonic.

I like them both equally for different reasons. JSR is more challenging and has an arcadey feel, and although JSRF is pretty easy, it is one HELL of a platformer. Best platformer last gen. :bow

Yeah, it WAS that good, keyword being "was."  Almost everything still worth playing on the system ended up getting released on other platforms, either through (usually superior) ports or with sequels.  I wish Jet Set Radio would get ported to something else, I miss that and can't play it since the DC is back in the States, and I never see that game for sale here.

For the longest time, the DC was the Street Fighter III 3rd Strike machine among my friends, but then it finally got released on the PS2 and later Xbox, pretty much retiring the system...

Jet Grind Radio is one of the most overrated DC games ever.

The music sucked.

You guys are fucking crazy.

What's wrong with was? To me that says that the machine was so good that every other machine had to have DC ports.

Actually, you'd be feebly pressing in all directions as the camera tried to take the most useless position possible.

I forgot about Outtrigger.  Really enjoyed that game; wish it had gotten ported or got a sequel.

More like they made ports because the DC died so early.   :P

I never really played the system..  and anytime I ever saw someone play it I wasn't too impressed.

Then again this was when I was hardcore PC gaming so I had a very bias opinion at the time.

IF DC is part of the Saturn, PS1, N64 generation, then yes, it was awesome.

If DC is part of the PS2, GC and Xbox generation then no, it kinda sucks.

Hell no. DC is better than GC and Xbox put together, and even ps2 can't top the sheer quality and quantity of the amount of games released in DC's entire cycle. Yeah, ps2 is the best system ever, but it took ps2 a good 4 years to take that crown. DC achieved similar results in a goddamn year.

Sonic Adventure was a wake up from nostalgia.

Whenever people keep saying YOU JUST LIKE ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS FOR NOSTALGIA, I point toward Sonic Adventure. Recently I replayed Sonic Adventure because I enjoyed the older Sonic games and I never really did get to play it for DC back in the day... at the time I didn't own a Dreamcast and could only play it whenever I was at a friend's house. Believe me, nostalgia didn't help that experience. It fucking sucked.

So, anyone know where I can find Shenmue for cheap? Only DC game that  I really want to play. My burner won't burn the bootleg games correctly for some reason :(
