gamecrazy has a trade-in deal for mvp's that'll probably make blow my money.  It's kind of annoying that this was released just a couple weeks the shopping season.

What did you think of the first AC demi? I see a lot of people who thought the first game sucked saying AC2 is great. Maybe I'll pick it up after I get a new 360.

no I'm saying that this game is probably going to be $40 by the end of the year but I don't have the patience to wait.  it's annoying how all triple a games come out at the same time making you want to do a bunch of impulse buys.

If this game didn't have so many visual problems (tearing, frame rate, pop in), I would say it looks better than Uncharted

I played a lot of the first game, completed the DNA chains, but could not muster the energy for the flags. AC1 singlehandedly broke my will to do collection Achievements. Anymore, unless they're marked on a map like in BULLY or there is an online map of superlative quality, I am so, so done with that kind of crap.

Also could not stand the "therapy" sessions even though I'm fond of that Veronica Mars actress. Talking was fine, but mashing B Button to continue getting chatty during each possible break... and still not getting the completed-every-conversation Achievement was also crappy. But worst of all is the debilitation of the character. You can't strike the doctors - whatever - if I'm locked up against my will, I may want to act out a little. But you can't run or jump or climb, either. You can only walk, and you can't even push past the doctor when he's hanging out in your room. It isn't a "contrast" between playing Altaire vs. the prisoner, it's just broken feeling.

And then the whole "use your Eagle Vision in the clinic" ending was just unintuitive and crappy, too.

Hopefully they work all that out.

It has multiplayer achievements, and some can be done using two controllers local multi (like marathon where you have to leave your 360 on for hours...seriously).  Single player stuff isn't hard assuming you have the tendency to collect everything in platformers like I do.  It's the hardest of the three I listed, and took the longest.  Like, the only reason I went through the trouble to see if I could have enough patience to get 1000/1000 in a game.  If I had AC2 1000/1000 before it, I probably wouldn't have bothered because the multi achievements are annoying.  Though, one of them is playing with a dev or playing with someone who played with a dev, and if you can't find someone, I could help out there.

I just started playing this yesterday and it seems pretty good so far even though I really prefer the setting in the first game over this but there's one thing that's kind of bugging me - all the cross eyed characters.  I haven't been following AC2 so I don't know if other people have been bitching about it but god damn it's distracting.

Neat-o. I've got Banjo N&B but was not sure when to fire it up. I -loved- the demo, but have been postponing booting the disc because I think it'll take a LONG time to finish, and would be a hard game to go back to if I don't do it in a single run.

OTOH, as good as AC2 sounds, I'm not buying it until next year. The backlog, it towers above me.

Only real collectibles are the feathers, and they're super easy to get with a guide (even without a guide they're easy to find).  First, the glowing eagle eye vision highlights them for you.  Then the game tells you how many feathers you need in total, by city and by district.  So, while it says 100/100, it breaks it down by saying 32/32 in Florence, 6/6 in so-and-so district in Florence.

There are a ton of side missions and treasure chests to collect, but they're not required for completion.

I was doing the second assassin tomb last night (the one in the chapel) and I had a little touch of vertigo in the process.  I don't know when the last time a game did that to me but there was something about climbing on those beams that made my palms sweat, and that's pretty damn awesome.

And I love upgrading the villa, I just wish there was more of it.  It would've been cool if they implimented a Suikoden style recruitment process along with the building upgrades.  Maybe they'll give it to us in AC3.

The big benefit is that you never need to repair armor again.  And if you want to look like Altair for AC1, you can use that uplay system to get that.  Just finishing the game gets you enough to unlock almost everything for free.

A lot of people get confused on how it works. Altair was already in the assassin group, he was at Master rank from the start.

Ezio is just some poor boy thrust into a world of deceit and lies and throat slitting, who happens to be related to said Master Assassin. He's completely clueless. But through the game he begins to understand and learn the ways of the neck cutter. Story baby, story.

Also you get lots of pussy. Catalina is only the start.

It'll definitely be interesting to see which direction they'll go with AC3. I really don't know if it's going to be more Desmond oriented in the present day, another assassin from history, or maybe some future/past setting The Truth was hinting at.

You can't change the color of Altair's armor though.  The dyes...they do nothing. [/Rainier Wolfcastle]  You're basically stuck looking like a jester if you put that suit on.

Anyone look out the windows during the section when you're controlling Desmond out of the Animus?  It looked like Florence.  I don't know if that was supposed to be a clue about something or not, but I thought it was interesting since I thought you were still in some modern city, but maybe not.

Well you can take it off and the color of the default outfit will be the color you last dyed it, so if it's black it's because you dyed it that, but you can't change the color of the Altair set.  And I don't necessarily have a problem with the color of Altair's Armor (nothing wrong with black!) it's just the white stripes on the sleaves.  I know I'm sounding like your average gaf-tard fashionista about this but imo it just looks ridiculous.  All white or all black is much more bad ass.
