I always wanted to really get into The Wire, but every time I do, season one is SO UNBEARABLY FUCKING BORING that I just stop. At least the first 5 episodes are, because that's about as far as I've gotten.

I did the same thing. I had to watch the first 3 or 4 episodes a few times before I finally just sat down and marathoned 6 or 7 in one day, and then I was hooked. Things start coming together nicely once they get the wire up

I'll attempt this when I go home for Christmas. I'll be high and / or drunk the whole time anyway. The Wire + substance abuse seems like a good fit.

I think they left out some choice lines from Snoop though.
