I remember the original script called for New Orleans to be hacked and the levees(sp?) would collapse, thus flooding and destroying most of the city. I gather some massive re-writes were done.

Yeah, I don't know what the fuck EviLore is talking about. One New York city cop with no shoes and the fat, black guy from Family Matters versus hardened European mercenary terrorists that take over a huge, secure Los Angeles building that results in many, many explosions that can be seen from space... doesn't really cry realism to me.

I think the reason you guys feel like this is because the teaser is just crashes sequences and explosions without any dialogue, it probably will leave you feeling empty. In the movie, with John McClane talking it should feel more like Die Hard.

The series has gotten progressively more over-the-top.

The GIF I posted is the most ridiculous thing that happens in the original Die Hard, and it's really not that ridiculous compared to things that happen in almost every other action movie.

And I don't know if the series has gotten more progressively over-the-top. Die Hard with a Vengeance certainly was so, but I'd say Die Hard 2 is more realistic than the original.

I really think the villain should be the Grueber(sp?) father, who starts as a crippled old man, then becomes a walking death machine of youth and carnage because he injects himself with the finished Super Soldier serum that he was working on for the Nazis in WWII. At the end of the day, all he really wanted to do was knock off a McDonald's.

No. I was going to dare you to prove I hadn't seen the movie with a link or something (wink wink) but you didn't bite the bait.

I'd rent Die Hard if I could find it on DVD. So far I've checked a couple places and they just have it for VHS. I don't have a VHS player, and I watch my movies on my computer since I don't have a DVD player either.

I probably would've responded if I wasn't at class for a little while. I knew you probably would've made a thread here about it if you actually had seen it. I also find it extremely hard to believe you can't find it on DVD anywhere. I'd burn down any movie rental store that didn't have it.
