Another episode where literally nothing happened except some sentimental father/son Disney bullshit.

I love the promo for next week, "We can't show you anything, but we promise questions will be answered!" :lol

Great episode, I'm glad they were able to devote nearly 30 minutes to Jack's son that he doesn't even really have.  ::)

Only good part was Hurley speculating that they time travel back to dinosaur times and the skeletons are really theirs.

I like how they spent the entirety of the episode going to a damn lighthouse which wasn't even integral to the plot. Lost seriously has to have one of the worst writing bullpens working in television.

I think my theory holds up.  The MiB and Jacob both have separate canidate lists.  The "Shepard" in the cave is probably Claire, "Jarrah" is infected, "Kwon" is in the captivity of the MiB, and "Ford" is also on Team smokey.  That just leaves "Reyes" whereas we are shocked by some silly plot twist.

Kate and Jack are on Jacob's side, possibly Sun.  Wouldn't be surprised to see Desmond and Walt on his list too.

each episode of this last season just exposes a little bit more of the fact that they really only had the sketchiest of ideas where they were going with all this

13 more episodes, i'll wager 11 of those will be the same 40 minutes of meandering bullshit with 5 minutes of dangling fan service sprinkled here and there, while what you really waited around for all these years will be rushed and crammed into the final two hours

I dunno, it seems like the majority of complaints for the final season is...that it's the same show it's been every other season.  Part of the problem has been the advertising, but it's also strange to imagine the type of show the dissatisfied viewers would like to be watching.  What mystery novel or film require an entire 1/6th of its narrative to reveal its mystery?

Shepard in the cave is Jack as Lock-ness said that Jacob wrote those names.

And Claire confirmed that Christian Shepard was smokey. That also means that when Walt appeared to Locke it was probably Smokey.

I think Claire is more freaked out based on the fact that she was already unstable, she was apparently captured and tortured like Sayid, unlike Rousseau she spent more time with Aaron (Rousseau said Alex was taken on the first night), she's being guided by smokey and she had already been kidnapped and held by the others before.  She's just been through a lot more (that we know of) than Rousseau at this point in less than 3 years.

But in the end, all I am really bothered about is, where the fuck is Desmond?

No idea.  Maybe he only signed up for the one episode?  The producers already admitted to having to specially write some storylines for actors/actresses that wouldn't come back for the final season ( i.e. Shannon  :'( ).

Quote
Lost's Sayid (Naveen Andrews) may be in for a couple difficult talks — not one, but two of his former lovers are returning to the show. Both Shannon (Maggie Grace), his dead island girlfriend, and Nadia (Andrea Gabriel), his dead off-island wife, will return in the final season.

Production on several films initially kept Grace from reprising her role as Shannon, Boone's stepsister who was killed by Ana Lucia in Season 2. "We're really excited about having her back on the show," executive producer Carlton Cuse told Entertainment Weekly, "and we have a good story for her."

Nadia also was murdered — her life taken by one of Charles Widmore's assassins, who ran her over in a crosswalk as Sayid helplessly looked on.

Reps for the ABC series would not comment to TVGuide.com on when Grace and Gabriel will return, how long they'll appear on the show or whether either will suck face with Sayid.

Libby (Cynthia Watros), Michael (Harold Perrineau), Charlotte (Rebecca Mader) and Daniel Faraday (Jeremy Davies) are among the other departed characters we'll see again in the final season of Lost.

i hate when the show names episodes after things in the episodes like it was important or relevant. the light house was introduced and removed from the fiction in no more than 5 minutes. just like that one episode about the dude who tortured sayid. he was on screen for 5 minutes! and he didn't even do anything that mattered!

I don't understand the Clarie infected thing.  Are they implying that Rousseau was infected?  Because from the flashbacks it seems like she just went fuck crazy when her team were infected.  This is in contrast to Claire, who is supposedly infected (but definitely fuck crazy).

Rousseau thought others were infected when apparently she was the one infected.  We really only saw short bursts of Rousseau becoming fuck crazy so who knows.

The last scene with Claire (I think) was her chilling with her dad Christian in the cabin acting all funny and not herself - don't think anything comparable happened to Rousseau

But there is tons we didn't see about Rousseau.  And she was always talking about some infection.  She was babbling the same way about her child.  All the signs point to her becoming nutty the same way.

The ominous music and "where's my baby?!  where's aaron!?" are clearly references to Rousseau and her nuttiness.

That would explain why Widmore wanted Ben to kill her...but it doesn't explain why she just seemed run-of-the-mill crazy after she hooked up with Losties right before she was killed.

The temple dude wanted to kill her (Claire) as if she was some kind of threat to them. - which obviously she is if Fake Locke is her "friend". But Rousseau just seemed harmless and sad...I actually felt sorry for Rousseau, but Claire seems like a real threat.

Rousseau probably just had no real use to smokey so maybe she got "infected" and she was just known as that crazy bitch out in the woods.  Ben didn't want to kill her because of the whole mother of my child thing and the smoke monster just didn't care.  We're talking about this not knowing what Claire's role really is in all of this.  She was obviously important.

So I just read that in the Bible Jacob's 12th son was called Benjamin, and the mother died during childbirth. Fancy that.

There are tons of Bliblical references in the series and season six is really starting to fan the theory that the island is the Garden of Eden and Jacob and Lock-ness are the two angels left behind to protect it, and obviously one went crazy nuts at some point.

Just finished Lighthouse. Great episode, and certainly felt "old school" as Hurley said lol. Last two episodes have been great, I'm finally excited.

I'm wondering whether Jacob and Fake Locke had different candidate lists, or are they going after the exact same people. And if this is just a game to get off the island, with Fake Locke picking Sawyer to replace him and Jacob picking Jack

also I wonder if Jack has a different wife

It is implied that the cave is perhaps Locke's own list for erasing Jacob's candidates. That is why he killed Eko, Nikki & Paulo, etc.
