The difference being that one included it from the get-go, this was a total cop out. And a poorly written one at that (at least Battlestar Galactica resolved its long running mysteries instead of IGNORING THEM). Jack's father opens the doors to heaven? Are you kidding me?

Yup. Which is why BSG's finale was better (the entire show is better of course). But I still enjoyed the heck out of the finale. It spent more time on characters than mythology. Seeing every character together again at the end = total awesome fan service.

they werent dead. everything shown on the island happened. the flashes we've been seeing where the purgatory. that happens far off in the future when they're all dead.
