Yeah, everyone jump on the Fringe bandwagon instead. It's a show that actually rewards viewers by resolving storylines and not abandoning its first season premise. If the third season of Fringe becomes an epic duel between angels and demons, you can feel free to mock me.

It seems like they whoever was on Lost thats on Fringe learned from Lost and actually come through with some of the purposefully laid out mysteries

I dont have a problem with shows that are "about the characters". I adored the BSG finale.

Problem is, Lost had shitty characters. No one behaved with a shred of logical ability. And OH WOW THE HOT GIRL IS A CRIMINAL and OH WOW WHEELCHAIR MAN CAN WALK and OH GEE CONFIDENT DOCTOR IS SECRETLY A MESS does not make a character compelling. It makes them interesting. One Piece has better characters. No one on LOST was ever motivated by their character traits. You could have swapped their backgrounds interchangably. They were just pieces. Which is why it made sense to have a cool, mythology focused show. I'm here for the MYSTERIES! Some of the greatest sci-fi writers of all time do this constantly. Shitty characters used to tell an intriguing story.

BSG got away with letting some of the mythology slide because it spent 4 seasons telling us a stolry about it's characters, not it's universe and mythology. So when the end came and it was a kind of non-resolution, that was okay in most instances. The last 4 minutes and still AI-levels of fucking awful, but aside from that.

You cant have characters as crappy and one dimensional and fucking fabricated as you do on LOST and get away with a 'character' ending.

This is amazing.  I can't wait to drink all the tears of Lost fans who have followed this series for YEARS only to get that ending.

Season 1 is good. it's not entirely sure what it's up to until the end. Season 2 is a non-starter with a big slump in the middle that all of a sudden takes off on one of the best 6 episode runs in TV ever.

i like the ending and i think lost is the most overrated show since community, you guys are forgetting just how awful series finales are. like i said with the corner they painted themselves in that was the best way of ending it. maybe it's just easier for me to stomach a bullshit religious ending to a bullshit science fiction one as science fiction has to be much more cohesive and intricately written and the lost writers just don't have the chops. they definitely took the easy way out but if they didn't the end result would have been much worse.

I really wish they went with the whole Dark Tower angle. Though even that left many readers with questions so maybe it wouldn't have been a good thing. But explaining the alt timelines as actual alt timelines instead of purgatory would have been cooler. The spiritual angle made me roll my eyes a bit.

i was talking about the last 10 minutes. using religion is a lazy plot device, but watching how they attempt to explain their brand of science fiction or misdirect and distract the audience from explanations i have no faith (lol) whatever explanation they shat out would be any better. i also don't inherently hate anything religious. ultimately it had no bearing on the overarching plot, they could of cut out the purgatory stuff from the entire season and just ended the show with jack dying, it was just their to give fans closure as most people hate unhappy endings. i'm sure coupled with its super heavy handed score most lemmings bawwed their eyes out.

Like I said, if they had dropped the island storyline once the bomb went off and made the focus them rediscovering everyone on the mainland, it would have been about ten times better. And not nearly as distinguished mentally-challenged. If you're not going to bother to answer any of the long standing mysteries, then don't try to force an ending. Just got for ambiguous.

jack pulls his jesus act, causing the island reality to shift over to the sideways reality, and the big reveal is that they are all constants to the universe, they are just going to keep shifting from reality to reality and not remembering what happened in the last, each time will be a little different and there will be different "not-ready" transitional people left behind, but the core group will always remain the same and the task of protecting the island is the same for all realities, kind of bittersweet in that it's a bit of a curse but at least this once they were able to remember what happened before and they can move to the next reality knowing they may have to do it forever but they'll always have each other to rely on
