actually wes anderson's aesthetic and characters may be more palatable in an animated mode.

 might see it!

... but Twilight didn't beat out The Dark Knight for the weekend record, am nintenho.
Maybe it won't beat it for the weekend record but it still bends over and humbles Bale/Nolan fanboys.  Think about it, TDK was the most successful sequel in what is today the most popular comic book franchise.  It also had 4 times the budget and a dead gay cowboy so that should have gotten it at least another 50% at the box office (AT LEAST!).  And it got fucking beaten by a movie about emo-vampires taking their shirts off.

The thing is that you know that in less than a year when the sequel comes out, the same fanboys bitching today are going to be crying again when Twilight3 sets a new record, probably also an opening weekend record.  Making it the most entertaining movie this summer.

Synthesizer Patel says go see Fantastic Mr. Fox instead, which he claimed is not only the greatest stop-motion film of all-time, but one of the greatest films of all-time.

wes anderson + furfiggurtry = epic fail

Prole fails big time.  :'(

This can only mean the next decade will be all about furries  :-\

Winnie the Pooh and Looney Toons have been around for ages. So have tons of more recent movies with talking and/or anthropomorphic animals. It's funny that people somehow think this is any different.  :lol

Furfaggotry can only go downhill from here.  I can see Hot Topic shelves lined with various edgy fursonas for teenage girls (and boys) with low self esteem to pick up.  Mainstream quizzes with "what type of furry are you" will receive millions of unique hits per month.  Halloween will turn from girls wearing provocative costumes to their fursonas, knocking on my door wearing a gaudy purple tiger outfit.

I'm not cut out for the fur world :(

my rule of thumb is that if you can deliver the same narrative, themes, and messages WITHOUT anthropomorphic animals, then it is straight-up furfaggotry. starfox, for example, would have been functionally identical with human characters, and the same for the fantastic mr fox. winnie-the-pooh and tom and jerry? not so much. fox's visuals are there for the arthaus yiffpile set.

Well, if you want to skip out on one of the year's highest rated animated movies out of hatred of "teh furries", I guess that's your prerogative.

I think the real issue is that anthropomorphic animals have become so realistic that Prole and his ilk are secretly turned on.

I saw it on Friday. Loads of little kids at the screening I went to as well. Totally inappropriate to bring them.

That's what I was figuring. The theater we saw it at in Seattle is one of my absolute favorites. It's a beautifully restored mid-century two-screen art house theater. There was this one little kid who ran into me going into the theater commenting "Man, this theater is totally ghetto."

Fantastic Mr. Fox was originally written by Roald Dahl.  His purifying mark is the films redemption from furfaggotry 09.

Avatar and New Moon however  :-\

I remember seeing that in the theater, I'm guessing it was late in the film's run because only a handful of people were there. Great movie; haven't seen it in ages though so dunno how I'll like it as a grown up

Nightmare Before Christmas held up pretty well. I'd like to watch James and Giant Peach again, but I've never got around to it.

Typically when we go to the movies (Friday and Saturday matinee's at the art-house theaters in Seattle), there is: 1) A gay couple, 2) Tons of old people and 3) us.

3. It probably sucks
