I actually bought this game to see what all the fuss was about.  The first part of the game is kind of fun, a really basic Tokimeki Memorial, but once you get to the romance part it requires too much time.  It runs on real-time, so you have to make dates and remember them.  Since it's supposed to be realistic, you can only schedule dates during reasonable hours (aka, at times where you would normally be doing other shit) and you're expected to play the game on a daily basis, writing mundane emails and talking with her on the phone.  After awhile I guess it goes further and requires more time, bloody hell.  I stopped playing the game after I realized what a waste of time it was (and my girl got pissed at me because I arrived an hour late for our "date" and stood her up).  Heh, I should probably put it in again to see what kind of nasty messages she's sent me in the few months we've been apart.  With all of the effort you have to put into the stupid game, you might as well just get a real girlfriend.

The game also has a feature where you can travel to different prefectures in Japan and get special unique items related to that prefecture by going to a DS Download station.  I wonder if anyone has been crazy enough to collect them all.

Wow, z, that sounds like more effort than an actual girlfriend (unless she was a stuck up guidette).

I'd try this if I weren't afraid that video game girls will turn out to reject me just as much as real girls do. That'd be a blow to my self-esteem. At least with real girls I can use cultural differences (from a childhood misspent playing video games) as an excuse. Then again, I haven't played video games in a few years either so I'm probably out of touch there too :gloomy

Obviously we stopped with the atomic bombs too soon.

Soooo my question is, in these terrible fucking games is there any actual implied physical contact between you and your virtual girlfriend, or is it all just wistful gazing at each other

Skinship is one of the game's bigger features and makes full use of the touch screen.  Plenty of opportunities to make out with your girl, and there's even the added tension of making her feel important while in public, but not going too far to embarrass her.

There's also "Loveplus mode" which is more or less just a mode where you can touch your girl all you want in a private room.

Okay so uh, you can use the stylus and touch her boobs or face or something to make her feel important? What if you go to town and start rubbing her all the time in public?

AAAGHHHH This is so weird. BRB I have to go grope my girlfriend or something

He will remain a virgin. Even after the honeymoon.
