Yamaoka has left Konami
http://www.aeropause.com/2009/11/akira-yamaoka-leaves-konami-after-16-years/

And apparently the Wii game is going to suck ass if you like SH from leaked reviews.  Though I guess that's not surprisingly after lolcoming

:(

RIP GOOD MUSIC, GOOD STORY, GOOD ATMOSPHERE

SH2's story >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> *
1/4 were fun Stephen King-ish tales of macabre as well

But there was hope!

/Origins was ok if you lowered expectations due to portable nature.  It nailed the atmosphere, the gameplay, the music was ok and the story was passable.

I got bored with Origins after getting to the sanitarium.  Just had a total "been there, done that" kind of feeling.  But hey, the lightgun arcade game was good for a few laughs!   :lol

...

 :-\

I will only try the remake out if it gets enough positive impressions.  Easy enough to "demo" on PS2 or PSP (when it hits in January) anyway.

No clue.  Duckroll says he should go to EA and work with Suda & Mikami.

I could never get into the series.

It took me a while to get into it.  Everyone kept raving about SH2, so I decided to try it and the original, and thoroughly enjoyed both games.  Liked SH3 a whole bunch, too.  Then came SH4, which originally wasn't a Silent Hill game.  It was fine until about halfway through, when the game makes you replay all the levels WHILE HAVING TO ESCORT AN NPC.  :yuck

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why "NOOOOOOOOOO?"  Maybe now Yamaoka will go elsewhere and be part of teams making good games once again.

I never played a Silent Hill game and don't intend to either.

Nothing against the series, those types of games just aren't my thing.  Same reason why I'll never bother with RE5.

I don't play SH games either but RE5 is not the same at all.

Only SH game I played was #2... really interesting story and was very unsettling/disturbing, but the gameplay was horrible. I know that was the point... but I'd rather watch it as a movie or read a book, than actually play.
