What new crap have you bought lately?

Yesterday was crazy here, with a ton of new releases, including the new Shiren DS game, three Ryusei No Rockman titles (the Battle Network successor), and a ton more.  I didn't really get to play much of anything due to my eye troubles (got medicine tho so it's all good) Here's what I picked up:


Really looking forward to playing this.  I love the demo.


New Puyo types and mode variants, plus online play.  Awesome.


Seems to be more of the same so far, meaning it will likely be sold off towards Lost Planet next week.


This series is overrated in my book; people spooged over EDF2, but I found it almost unplayble due to its horrid framerate problems.  But the 360 version looks nice, so I'm going to give it a shot.  There's already spooging going on over it at GAF.

This is based on the (good) Game Cube Gekitou Ninja Taisen fighting games.  Looks good from videos; hope it plays well enough on the DS...especially since Jump Ultimate Stars is out, is awesome, and has online play:


This came out a few weeks ago, but I haven't put much time into it.  It's a lot better than the original, with smoother game play, a lot more playable characters, and just better game play overall.  This and Bleach DS are great portable fighters.


This is from last week...it's the original Parappa, with 16:9, multiplayer (game sharing included), and downloadable content (songs, but I have no idea what they are)

Sold off Rockman ZX when I got my Wii...had to get it back again, and why not get it in English this time?

The Asian version, so I can play it on PS3.  It's in English and uncensored, unlik the Japanese version.

Next week is Lost Planet and Armored Core 4!  TOO MUCH CRAP!

I bought Sega Genesis Collection which is fuck awesome and  Bonk's Adventure, Gunstar Heroes, and Sigma Star Soldier from Virtual Console.

Also playing Portrait of Ruin. Tried out Animal Crossing and it was shit. Sold it. Tried out Tales of the Abyss, took it back. It was shit.

Zelda will be back in my play schedule starting tomorrow when I finish school.

Nice.  I want to get Sega Genesis Collection (on PSP) at some point.  Justice League Heroes, too. But the importers are always sold out.

Everything is shit compared to Portrait Of Ruin.    But then Animal Crossing always sucked, and on DS they don't even have the NES games, which were the best part.  Super Mario Bros. and Balloon Fight >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Animal Droppings.  

I need to start Zelda too.  Still debating if I should play it on Wii (in Japanese) or wait and import the Game Cube version instead.

  Sorry man, that frame rate just KILLED it for me.  But EDF3 is supposed to be at 60fps (though not constant), so that won't be an issue.

I was actually thinking of going back and rebuying EDF2 to try on PS3, too.  I literally played it for like five minutes and couldn't stand it, so I sold it off.  It's so cheap that I'd be willing to try it again.

Okay, so Naruto SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS, so bad that I am going to be selling it off in a few minutes...I literally received it an hour or two ago too.  That's a new record.   

Puyo Puyo is pretty nice.  It's still using that same artstyle since Fever, which I'm not too fond of, but it plays great and that's what matters.

Are these two region locked?  I'd like to try them

Japanese 360 games are ALWAYS region-locked.  EDF3 has already been confirmed for U.S. release in March, however.

Motorstorm is fucking awesome, BTW. 

Is Puyo Pop import-friendly?

Menus are all Japanese, but in Hiragana and Katakana.  Pretty easy to figure out if you can't read them, I think.  It's like this:

Options

Online is up to four players, regular or fever.

Yes, you can play online with no problems.  (Although if you play Japanese players there might be a lot of lag)  Playing online is the same as with American games, so you'd need friend codes to play with buddies, but of course you can just play against random people.

I have a good online connection and have played American games online without any lag, so I'm sure you can play Japanese players the same way.

Now if only I could get this stupid WiFi Max to work...I want to play my PSP online.

The Blockbuster next door just started renting Wii games, and they seem to have about 90% of them. I'm sure that will save me hundreds of dollars in 2007.

rented Elebits, but damn does that shit get old fast... and there only seems to be one small house area used many times over all the levels, that stinks... the aiming system is well done and is a mildly entertaining novelty though

plus the Wii's image quality is fucking shit on HDTVs, damn near unwatchable... gotta put the Wii in the closet for months
