Megaman has sucked ever since he left 8 bit, except maybe X1-3. I think Capcom is making the right choice.

Can't disagree there.  To me, the first three NES games are still the best and nothing released since even comes close.

So, I guess I'm going to get this E-Tank Box tomorrow and meet Inafune.

Should I bring a knife?

Tell him to make Mega Man Legends 3 on PS360, Lost Planet style. You should probably ask him about the fate of Duo and all the other storyline loose ends too.

Same here, though I think MM5 and X4 are also pretty excellent. I'd argue X4 is probably my favorite of that particular series... ZX was pretty disappointing; I didn't think the Metroidvania and heavy story was suitable for a MM title. But the music was pretty great at least. Never bothered with the second ZX game.

X1-3 were all good. I didn't care for the art style of the Zero games, but they were okay from what I played.

I like all six of the NES megaman games. I also felt the first half of the X games kept the megaman spirit intact with some extra stuff but not TOO much extra stuff.

I think my complaint is it seems that with the modern megaman games they stuff in a lot of extraneous bullshit like constant cutscenes, 500 upgrades, confusing hub worlds and all other kinds of stuff I don't think fits with the series. I like the simplicity of choosing one of the 8 robot masters and running through the levels, repeat.

MM9 was awesome. It captured the feel of the NES games pefectly but the level design blew the older ones out of the water. Very excited for 10.

Megaman has sucked ever since he left 8 bit, except maybe X1-3. I think Capcom is making the right choice.

I think sucked is too strong.

X4 rocked. X5 was pretty good.

Zero 2-4 were the bomb.

Will never understand the people who say the 6 MM titles were so awesome, other MM titles suck while they praise MM4.

I agree with this. The cutscenes and the hub crap in the Zero games is the worst part for me.

Playing X4 as Zero is my favorite Mega Man game.  Actually playing as Mega Man in a 2D platformer, MM2 or 3 is my favorite.  Problem with Mega Man platformers as the games went on is that your move set became ridiculous between the dash, airdash, hover, walldash, dash dash, slash dash, shoot dash.  I think it was MMX8 that let you swap characters, and there was another new character there, so you'd be switching between Mega Man and some guy who has a machine gun and can't move while firing.

250 reason to love Ninetendo?  jesus.
Quote
Reason 165 - Nintendo Fans

Sure, we're biased, but Nintendo fans are the best in the world.  They tend to wear their fanboyism on their sleeves, or, as often the case, on their skin--many have tattoos of the Triforce and other iconic Nintendo images.  Our favorite fan moment is by far the heavily googled unveiling of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess at E3 2004, in which the gathered crowd screamed with joy at the big reveal, and cheered Shigeru Miyamoto--who stood on stage with a replica Master Sword in hand--like a rock god.  And these were industry professionals!

8-bit's the in the retro thing.  I just wish they would have made it more like say, Pac-Man CE, using 8-bit sprites but with crazy backgrounds, effects, and music.

Basically an IOS is the launcher that the Wii uses. There's like seventy hojillion of them because Nintendo really sucks at writing code. As new features in SDKs come out, they have new IOSs. To maintain compatibility, they keep the old ones. For hacking the Wii, you simply mod an old IOS to remove the authenticity check and load the game with that. However because of that SOMETIMES games actually use parts of the new SDKs, which means it needs newer IOs.

Nope. That's why Nintendo keeps old IOSs on there. You can cover a lot with just a few, but there isn't 1 IOS to rule them all. Their system is horribly fucking distinguished mentally-challenged.

- Dont care to use Protoman (seriously who does)

Is there some sort of Mega Man purism going on that prevents him from sliding and charging? Wasnt a problem in the other games! Fucking distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

The problem with 9 and 10 is that they casual'd it up with the Shop. Why bother trying? Just get a bunch of screws, buy the e-tanks, and waltz in and shoot away.

I just peed on Blade Man without even a care, guzzing e-tanks like jooze.

I'll go for it. It doesn't seem that hard since you can save in between levels. But doing all the Wily stages at the end will probably take a lot of practice since you can't save between them IIRC. I've still only played the Wii version for an hour or so, so I haven't even seen Wily's stages yet.

I like it, but I've only done 2 stages.  Seems more of the same, but MM is always good fun.  RAGE at first, and then easy after you learn the levels/bosses.
Still, not getting hit at all is insane considering how evil a lot of the stuff is.

Wow, I'm impressed by how shitty of a port job MM10 was to the PS3. It's not even fullscreen and has poor emulator smoothing. I'd rather get this on the Wii, real talk.

Yeah it seemed...off.  I haven't played MM9 in forever so I can't remember if it was the same case there.

I still prefer having it on PS3 for ease of use in file management, controls, trophies.  But visually the game looks kinda weak.  Also I dunno if it's just me but I feel there is a slight lag when jumping which has made me start jumping 1/10th of a second earlier than I normally would.
