"She told Channel 4 News: "I’m afraid to say it [Ghostbusters 3] is happening, I hope people are excited about that. I don’t know if I’m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking ‘would you read the script’.

"I know that my little son Oscar – who was kidnapped from me – I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster.

"I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it

That has been the rumor for over a decade, dude. In fact, I'm pretty sure when I first logged on to a stupid Internet movie site, that was the first rumor ever.

I thought the game was basically the third movie? Didn't they mentioned that at some point in the game's development?

That would be the stupidest twist in the history of awful twists.

Don't know if it's still the same or not now, but they've had that "spoiler" out there for years now.  The original plan for GB3 was to have the Ghostbusters go to hell (which is like alternate version of NYC), and Murray would just have a cameo as a ghost; IIRC he wasn't really interested in doing another movie.

They rejected the Ghostbusters in Hell idea because based on the script it would cost like a billion dollars to film (just like the original idea of the inter-dimensional traveling Ghostbusters). This is a new story from the Office writers.

Ghostbusters happens to be my all time favorite movie but for the love of God leave it be. Ghostbusters is one of those films that doesn't need a sequel. There was magic in the first one that just cannot be recaptured.

they should just redo the bit from Zombieland where he's not really a ghost but they shoot him thinking he is anyway.
