I just made oatmeal with water.  but it's the quaker maple syrup/brown sugar kind, so it's already diabetes inducing without the milk.

I tend to use half milk/half water for hot chocolate and oatmeal, but mostly because I'm pretty sure I'm lactose intolerant.

i use milk with a quarter of the measurement being water whenever i make oatmeal. not only does it cook faster, but it helps with preventing the milk from burning which gives it a richer taste.

and people who use water instead of milk for their hot chocolate are assholes. all or nothing.

Sometimes I make hot chocolate with hot water. I won't have any milk so I just say fuck it, boil a cup of water and add it to some instant hot chocolate mix.

It depends on my mood.

Microwaving most proteins (meat, poultry, etc.) messes up their texture.  Use your oven.  I don't even own a microwave.

I usually make hot chocolate with half and half and Mexican chocolate.  Most Mexican grocers carry chocolate bars made for making hot chocolate.  They have hints of cinnamon.  Not a fan of the mixes, but I'm a food geek/snob.  Nestle's dark chocolate mixes are a decent product, however.

Restaurants cook bacon in the oven.  It provides even cooking and very consistent results.  Try it next time, BT.  Preheat a 400 degree oven. Lightly grease a pan or cookie sheet with butter, place bacon on top and cook for about 10 minutes or so.  Drain on paper towel.

My nanny microwaves her eggs in the morning for my children. I didn't find this out until I tried to fry them some eggs on skillet and they complained very loudly.

My children are going to have bowel cancer when they grow up.  Then I will laugh at them.

Personally, I just use whole fat milk too.

Microwaving most proteins (meat, poultry, etc.) messes up their texture.  Use your oven.  I don't even own a microwave.
I don't think there'd be any problem just reheating meat though.

I've never actually heard of making Oatmeal with milk until this thread and always used water in the past.  Hot chocolate, I usually use hot water (because there is usually a tea kettle out anyway) and cool it off a bit with milk.  Never heard of hot sauce in the fridge either.

I usually make my microwavable oatmeal with water first, then afterwards I pour a little bit of milk in it to make it sort of like a cereal.

and oh, today I made pancakes with water because I was out of milk.  Wasn't that bad.

I bathe in natural peanut, almond, cashew butter. I eat it all up.  Room temperature is where it's at, and having to mix it before use is hardly any effort for how much better it taste.

What is a refridgerator for?

To keep food fresh for a longer time. I put everything except bread in my fridge: ketchup, chocolate (can't stand normal room temperature chocolate :yuck), butter etc.

I never even thought about using cereal or oatmeal with water :yuck.

Some people use yoghurt instead of milk.

Leper them.
You never want to refrigerate premium chocolate, Borys.  I'm talking about the good stuff such as Vahlrona, not Hershey's bars.  It causes the chocolate to chalk up.
