She's what kept Dexter grounded... holy fucking shit. Next season is gonna be Daddy the Psycho Killer though, that should be crazy. This was definitely the best season. I also was not expecting this outcome, maybe because I didn't think the writer(s) would do it.

Minor gripe, but I cringed when Dexter found Harrison sitting on the floor covered in blood and they flashed back to Dexter in the shipping container. I know the show isn't reputed for its subtlety, but holy Christ on a cross that was unnecessary.

No, it definitely would be too obvious if they just made that another trinity killing. Trinity was on the run and had no way to find Dexter's real house even if he had the time to do it. Plus he didn't even kill that boy so he's not at that point in the cycle. I could be wrong but there's too many plot holes and it'd just feel way too cheap and obvious if they did just make that another trinity killing.

Dude, did you even watch the episode, where they dug up a boy that Trinity just recently murdered? Or even listen to the conversation between Trinity and Dexter, where Trinity obviously alludes to the fact that he murdered Rita? Or the fact that not only was a bathtub kill the next murder in his cycle, but that Rita's murder fits Trinity's modus operandi? Or that time obviously elapsed from the point where Dexter was at Trinity's house to when Trinity picked up the car? Or that that the producer confirmed it was Trinity?

Well to be technical, it depends what kind of cement he used. He kills them 5 days before, rigor is 24 hours, and depending on the cement, the body could be as good as new.

I think you guys are about the only ones I can tell this to, save for maybe Disposable White Guy.

I've been talking to this girl, and to be quite honest, only for the sole reason of hanging out and hooking up. I have no long-term aspirations or anything. She is a pretty big Dexter fan, so I let her know last night that the finale was pretty "shocking" to give her a heads up.

She called me tonight in hysterics - I'm talking waterworks, incoherent rambling, etc. It was actually kind of scary. She was really upset, to the point that I found it disturbing. She kept telling me I needed to get a job at Showtime and write that it was all a dream, but I couldn't really tell if she was joking or not.

I'm not sure if I want to see or talk to her anymore, but it would be tragic if it's the Dexter season finale that makes me put some distance between the two of us.

I dunno. I got the impression this kill was personal and not part of his cycle, mostly because she doesn't fit the profile at all.

Kudos to the writers for putting something truly shocking in the show for the first time. Huge fucking plot twists with lots of build-up aren't exactly in the earlier Dexter seasons. I mean, I obviously like the show, but I haven't been truly shitting myself until this season and that episode.

S4>S1>S2>S3 for me, although I enjoyed all of them. Too bad I accidentally clicked on this thread and spoiled it for myself maybe only 24 hours before actually watching the episode on my DVR.
