Looks like Trouble Witches Neo, King of Fighters 98, King of Fighters 2002, King of Fighters Sky Stage, Metal Slug 3 (awful port; avoid), and Metal Slug XX will be the deal of the week. Guess I'll finally get Sky Stage

Wow!

Metal Slug 3 has more ratings than Metal Slug XX, and they are both rated about the same by users. Can you describe why MS3 is so "awful?"

KOF98 has some of the worst online play out of any fighting game this gen, so I would not get it if that's what you're interested in. KOF2002 isn't nearly as bad, but it's still not good either. (I assume both games are completely dead online anyway.) I think all of the in-game text in KOF98 is entirely in Japanese as well? Not sure, it's been a while since I played it. I don't remember having any problems with how they looked or played though.

Metal Slug 3 has more ratings than Metal Slug XX, and they are both rated about the same by users. Can you describe why MS3 is so "awful?"

Metal Slug 3 is an amazing game (better than XX), but the 360 port is absolutely terrible. Forced vaseline filter, no stage select/training mode, online play is incredibly laggy unless you're the host, and it's censored unless you change your console's region to Japan. It's probably the worst version of MS3 you can play.

I haven't played MSXX much, but MS3 was the last MS from the original team, and they packed that game with content until it was overflowing (I'd argue it has too much content, since it's way too long). XX seems like the best MS to come out of SNK since then, but I've credit fed through it a few times and I don't think it's on the same level as the originals. Bosses aren't as good, stage design isn't as interesting, enemies aren't as fun, etc. Not a bad game though, it's still a solid run and gun.

I think the 360 version has a forced blur filter as well, but it's not as bad 3's.

DD version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution is on sale at Amazon:

$8 for Augmented Edition, $7 for Regular Edition.

I'll double dip at that price since I already have the 360 version.

How's the PC version of Alan Wake/DLC? I mostly ignored it when it came out on Xbox ... people seemed to think it was kind of goofy, but also kind of fun, also some guy named Barry Wheeler? I dunno. Worth $15?

I've heard nothing but good if you like mystery horror games.  PC version visually destroys the X360 one which was subHD and full of screen tearing.

Want to double dip on PC version (got the X360 one when it was bomba bin), but I have my plate full right now and I wouldn't be surprised if it was at least this same price in the summer sale if not a little better deal, so I'll wait.

Main game is enjoyable.  DLCs are awesome.

Like Bebpo said, it'll be cheaper on Steam if that's what you want.  Maybe a pack that includes American Nightmare too.  If you want it DRM free on GoG, typically they don't do more than 50% off, which it currently is.  But they've only recently adding newer (over $10) games.

Not really a sale, but sort of a good deal.  GoG just put up Quest for Glory 1-5 (both versions of #1, EGA & VGA included) as a $10 pack which is a good deal (or even better at $5 in the year end sale).

http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/quest_for_glory

QFG is one of the only Sierra series I never played.  I think I may have played QFG4 because I recognize the box art from my youth, but I don't remember.  I read a good thread on QFG1 and how it still holds up extremely well last year, so when I have some time I think I'm going to pick this up and give it a shot.

I had the CD version of Quest for Glory IV and it was great. Even went back to it a few months ago and still enjoyed it. The fusion of point-and-click adventuring with real-time combat and RPG elements is a pretty cool idea and, at least in QfG IV, it worked pretty well.

That Sony 3D display monitor has dropped to $250 if such things interest you.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+Computer+Entertainment+America+-+PlayStation+3D+Display+Bundle/2891051.p?id=1218360683860&skuId=2891051&st=sony%203d%20monitor&cp=1&lp=1

although Gamestop has it for $299 and you get an extra game and pair of glasses

http://www.gamestop.com/accessories/playstation-3d-display/91799

I've heard mixed opinions on it though ranging from ghosting to it just stop working after a few months so buyer beware.

It's one of my favorite series and anyone who likes adventure games or RPGs should definitely play through the entire series. I already own the games on CDs, but I'll double dip for the bug fixes.

http://majornelson.com/2012/06/26/xblas-kinect-adventure-game-haunt-free-for-a-limited-time/

Kinect HAUNT is free through the end of today, but only through the Xbox's menu, not through the xbox.com site.

The first 2 Modern Warfare 3 map packs are half price until July 9th. I haven't played in a couple months, but 10 new maps for $15 makes it like a new game again.

Is the original Toy Soldiers any good? I've been told by someone that I'd love it since I love tower defense. (Defense Grid, Sanctum, Orcs Must Die, etc.)

I never beat it, but I really like what I played.

I bought Hydro Thunder. Me and my nephew loved the demo.
