Would any of you recommend the Vita games that bork posted? I'm considering Shiren even though I usually get frustrated with those games after a few hours.

Bought Shiren.  Figured it was worth a try for that price.

I have Nights Of Azure but have yet to actually play it.  Wish I'd waited to buy it now.  :doge  It's also getting a PC port but this is Koei, so I'm sure the Steam release will be hot garbage.

Only one I've played out of those games is Sword Art Online Lost Song.

Lost Song, from what I've played, is a fun little action-RPG that has flying mechanics (including combat).  Looks and runs pretty nicely on the Vita.  You might feel a bit lost (no pun intended) in regards to the story if you've never played the previous SAO game or watched the anime series.  But in brief, you're playing as characters who are logged onto a virtual-reality MMORPG and you run/fly around the map killing monsters and exploring dungeons.

I heard that the original SAO was kind of garbage so I skipped that.  This game is the second in the series and seems to have gotten mostly average reviews.  I think it's worth a try for twenty bucks.  One nice thing about Lost Song is that the American version has all the DLC and updates already included-- nothing to download or buy, which is rare for Bandai-Namco.

There's a newer game that recently came out that goes back to the first game's setting (and drops the flying stuff, since the RPG played in that game doesn't have flying) which I will also try out once it drops in price...on PS4, anyway.  For whatever reason, the newest SAO runs like ass on Vita.  They have been patching it so maybe it will get to a playable state.

Also worth noting in regards to the story is that Sword Art Online started out with the characters playing another MMORPG that was hacked by its creator, trapping them inside the VR world.  Death in the game meant death in real life.  The characters had to beat the game to get out and were trapped inside the game for two years.  So what do they do when they finally get out of VR fantasy hell?  Go play more VR games online.

Sure, why not.  I liked the first one+dlc well enough so was gonna play this at some point anyhow.  Probably not getting any cheaper than $20 for a long while.

I'm gonna wait on Dishonored 2 to see if a GOTY edition pops up later.

Fred Meyers (so maybe Kroger too?) had 3DS games bogo half off, and deal where you got a gift card for buying a certain number of games. The coupon didn't ring right so the guy just gave me half off both games or something and I ended up getting my step son Mario Maker and Sun for $45 and getting a $20 gift card too. Was pretty stoked about thAt

Nice to see it finally pop up.  If you want to get it earlier, there's a third party seller selling it for a few bucks more (they got it early and shipped mine yesterday), plus Video Games Plus in Canada has it as does Play-Asia...although the latter is gonna cost too much to get in a few days from FedEx.

How was Gears 4?  It's $20 at Target and I keep debating getting it.  I liked the first 2, didn't play 3 but the way this one barely seemed to make a splash and faded so quickly has me wondering if it sucked or something.

I'm skipping that and BF1. FPS's just don't really hold my attention long. The free weekend was fun but I was still only playing in 20-30 minute intervals and only played a couple hours total that weekend. I think I'm just burnt out on them.

It's not that long a game, I think. For you guys it's probably a weekend. So, yeah, worth the time: It's gorgeous and internally consistent. I like the core mechanic and writing.

Also on-sale is Project Scissors/Nightcry aka janky ass Clock Tower reboot.  Finally down to $12.50 which is low enough for me to check out as a horror jank fan.  Probably will keep going lower, but if anyone's been keeping an eye on it, that's the lowest it's been yet.

US Amazon, dunno why, but this game is less than $8, incl. Prime delivery.

Here's Destructoid's review:
https://www.destructoid.com/review-tokyo-twilight-ghost-hunters-daybreak-special-gigs-390103.phtml

It's a Japanese visual novel, and appears to feature non-hasten-able text, so that's a nonstarter for me.
