Sometimes adding salt just isn't enough. If you're eating shitty french fries and you're hungry, ketchup is the perfect way to mask the bland flavor. It doesn't enhance the flavor, but it does a damn great job at masking it. Kinda like hot sauce, except unlike hot sauce, ketchup is shit.
