Seriously though, Green Shinobi may be annoying but he's not nearly as bad as Methodis, FoC, or Kosma. GS is like an explosion of ignorance in a controlled environment, the blast reserved to one or two threads a week. Methodis, FoC, and (to a smaller extent) Kosma create a forum-wide Caliphate of stupidity with each post; no one can escape it.

There is nothing reasonable about one's door being smashed in and a squad of armed officers entering with drawn weapons, UNLESS there is a damned good reason for it. If someone has a violent record, then a no-knock search could be warranted. If someone has no record, then a no-knock search is not reasonable at all, end of story. The possibility that someone might flush drugs down the toilet doesn't justify using such extreme tactics against private citizens.

Yes, the Fifth (or Fourth, whatever) Amendment gives citizens the right to be free from unreasonable search or seizure.  Funny thing, though, that applies whether the police knock on the door first, or not.  ie. Even a "knock" search violates the fifth amendment, UNLESS that search is authorized by a judge/justice.

Your entire statement, of course, does not refer to the line of arguing that got us here.

The WHOLE FUCKING POINT behind judicial search warrants is to have judicial oversight to the process.  And as long as the warrant is valid, and that the affiant had "reasonable grounds to believe" that the search was warranted, he's in the clear, even if the search is not fruitful.

Once again, it comes down to your FUNDAMENTAL LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM.  A Search warrant is not a document stating "I KNOW, 99.99% THAT I WILL FIND X IN BUILDING Y."  THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS.

So if the police find nothing, well, shucks, that sucks.  As long as the warrant was well-written, justified, and signed by the Justice, such is life.

I live in the real world, where you just can't count on a 100% success rate.  That's life.
