He was a DC area icon. I've lived in the DC area for over 20 years and no sports reporter, short of Glenn Brenner, has made a bigger impact in this town. The Sports Machine paved the way for future nationally televised sports shows like SportsCenter, and I was pleased to see that the SC crew acknowledged as much today.

RIP George and condolences to his family.
