My only critique with 7 so far is that when I use the preview windows to switch back and forth between webpages, sometimes no amount of clicking will bring my desired browser page to the forefront. Otherwise, it's been pretty hot.

Windows 7 is quite good imo especially now that I've had a lot of hands on time with it. What makes laugh though is all the jackasses who tried to tell me Vista wasn't a piece of shit on messageboards as I was using that piece of shit.

There are still certain things I prefer about the Mac Os and how it runs especially stability wise, but I can honestly say when I boot my Mac I now use the Windows 7 partition a lot which didn't happen before. This is the first Windows OS that I can remember that actually feels like something fairly intuitive.

Still using Vista 64 bits. I thought of switching several times but...i have so much stuff here, games installed, 200gb of movies and music, tons of programs....

I've actually not had any issues with my Vista. But I honestly would like to upgrade to 7. I just dont want to do the upgrade and then not be able to save my pc should disaster strike.

Does the upgrade from vista to 7 copy also put a new backup copy in place on the HDD like preformatted Dells come with?

If you have an upgrade disc, it doesn't format the drive, it just upgrades the OS. This made me really happy because I didn't have to deal with hours of putting shit back on my computer.

I just upgraded to Windows 7 64 yesterday (fresh install) and it isn't letting me register it.  But yeah, Windows 7 is awesome.  Even using XP for a couple hours made me miss it.

I had the same. I just upgraded to 7 and I haven't seen any problems yet. I had an ass ton of stuff on my comp, so I was afraid of formatting, so I just upgraded to 7. Seems to be working just fine.
