I got this as a gift and if you're a fan of plodding classic RE-style survival horror it's not bad at all.
+ actual widescreen, no stupid, stupid, stupid black bars
+ looks pretty nice for a Wii game - pre-baked shadows spice it up a bit and it has what I gather is volumetric fog (which is good, because there's a lot of fog)
+ voices sound fine
+ good atmosphere (abandoned villages on mountainsides thus far)
+ controls well, even the minimal motion control stuff works OK. You use the pointer to shoot at enemies which works well.
- no quickturn. Thus far I haven't found this too bad as enemies are generally slow, but you do have to adopt a "run away and turn around" tactics at times.
- a bit of motion control stuff, and it works as well as can be expected (ie, occasionally doesn't register).
- tank contols. I don't mind them, but some might. The camera does stay behind you.
I see reviews are in a similar range to Alone in the Dark but unlike that travesty this is pretty good. Probably played about 3-4 hours.
