360 demo reviews, for your convenience
« on: December 28, 2009, 09:46:00 PM »
dante's inferno: god of war 2.5. looks gorgeous at 60 fps. who called these ps2 graphics? OH TEH NO THERE ARE NO CHEESY KILLZONE 2-ESQUE POST-PROCESSING EFFECTS AND FILTERS. shame the fighting wasnt terribly interesting in the demo, but i'll get it anyway -- at $30 3 weeks after release.

divinity 2: ego draconis: dragon age the hack-and-slash, now at a slideshow 15 fps with proper loot and an open world. oddly compelling despite the awful battle and death animations. will buy -- on pc, as your god intended it, where i can run it with good textures and a playable framerate.

I suppose I'm getting Bayonetta.  The demo was fun enough, and unlike people who only own a PS3 I am able to purchase it on the superior platform.

Just a comment on some opinions I read elsewhere - I played the demo of Dante's Inferno a couple weeks ago when it was released on PSN and I don't know how someone could be looking forward Dante's Inferno and not God of War 3 or vice versa.  It's the same fucking game.  I really don't see the difference between the two besides one guy wears a shirt and the other one doesn't.

Valve needs to put Sacred 2 on sale for about $5 this week, because I need that game.

i agree, although i like the bastardized hell theme more than the bastardized greek mythos as far as arbitrary fantasy settings go

Yep I'm picking up Dante's Inferno rather than GoW 3 for that reason. I'd rather go to Hell.

divinity 2 demo ran like crap on my computer even when I turned down the settings.  I don't know if it relies heavily on the cpu or what.

it's really cpu-bound. the devs recommend a quad-core. the "burst" frame hitching is a hallmark of heavy cpu dependency, especially in animation key framing.

That's what it seemed like.  My cpu is a crappy dual core.

Yeah, I couldn't get into it at all, but I'd like to try out the console version.  Might be more fun with four people online.

I find that I tend to not dig the Dynasty Warriors games and instead prefer the other Musou games Koei makes.
