I'd say king's bounty. do you really want to play the same old id games again?

I voted King's Bounty, because you've probably already played Doom before and if you haven't, it's probably too late to start now.

Wasn't there a time this week where it was cheaper to buy the Kings Bounty games seperately than in the pack?

Last week you could get the new KB game for $10.

The thing is, if you want a retro FPS experience without all the pain of actually going retro, painkiller black is $5 on steam and owns face. I mean, Doom/Doom2/Heretic all still have some really interesting level design, but you basically have to solder on updated engines to make them really enjoyable (IMO) at this point.

also, check the steam forums and see how many people have problems getting some of those old id games running correctly

if you're iffy about pc gaming now, buying that id pack and finding out half the shit on there won't run is gonna send you right over the edge

Doom 3 is awful.  I've never gotten through it and I've tried over and over again.  It's cool for a few hours, but then it's completely repetitive and boring times in drab looking environments with the same enemies popping out of the dark for hours.

Bleh.  I prefer the other games in the Id pack, even if they are old.
