Lots of games I'm interested in, but seeing how they're on a handheld, I'll more than likely never play any of them.

I've got a DS Lite, I just never play it. DQ IX and Strange Journey look great, though.

Ace Attorney
Blue Dragon
Dragon Quest IX
Golden Sun
Infinite Space
SMT: Strange Journey

The rest are remakes, have shit 3D, or I never heard of them, but they look like shit. This is no better than the Wii thread.

You know, after my Wii thread (which you guys butchered, thanks btw), I'm not the least surprised by most of your anti-Nintendo responses.

There are some GREAT games coming out for the best video game system this generation, and you'd have to be a blind, Nintendo hating fanboy to say otherwise.

I see a record breaking software year for the DS in 2010. There are games for everyone this year on the handheld.

Iron Man 2 = huge improvement from the last one. Don't sleep on it, guys.

In what way? It has Wario, it has Dragon Quest, Pokemon, Phantasy Star, other great games from other genres. How is it underwhelming??

Everyone laughed when I said X-Men Origins: Wolverine DS and Spiderman: WoS DS were going to be solid, and they turned out to be good games. Iron Man 2 is of the same cloth, trust me.

What's the story on Blood Bowl?  I was hoping with all these stupid 'exclusive' contracts that some companies would go back to making fantasy type sports games but with stats/players etc like they used to.  Blitz the League is ok but I miss things like Mutant League Football or CyberBall.

I'd kill for a new CyberBall actually, I still play the arcade version from time to time.

It's a turn based strategy game based off a board game of the same name.

The DS has the best collection of RPGs out of any system. That is FACT. Complain about the remakes all you want but I suspect you havet eve played the original games, either. You're bitching for the sake of bitching. Maybe you'll have a better RPG experience on the PSPGO!

SMT: Strange Journey

DS once again only has rpgs.

I wish I had a flash cart so I could pirate ALL of these that AREN'T Strange Journey (maybe DQ too because it needs the sales).

Not to mention handheld rpgs pale compared to other rpgs. There's the occasional hot title like Etrian, but for the most part I find handheld rpgs lackluster and full of C-grade titles.

Thankfully there's DQ and SMT.

Just because ds has all the rpgs this gen doesn't mean they're GOOD rpgs.

Even if I haven't played all the FF and DQ games, remaking them in shitty 3D is not gonna make me wanna play them. I rather play the snes roms or the PS1/GBA 2D remakes.

Hotel Dusk sucked dick.

It makes me LOL every time I see someone on gaf call that shitty game a masterpiece or "one of the best game stories" told.

(Image removed from quote.)

:lol

I remember getting a game over when I told that little bitch to shut the fuck up.

One time when we were debating Hotel Dusk on gaf, I brought that up and someone actually DEFENDED it.

Himuro, why the hate for Hotel Dusk? It was a very serviceable game and I enjoyed it. The controls were on the money, for the exception of the part where you had to cut the coat hanger wire. Storyline was pretty dull in the beginning but it really came together in the end.

Breezy, for every 1 high-profile RPG you mention from the HD consoles, I can name 3 on the DS that are just as fun.
I never said the HD consoles had a lot of good rpgs, but okay. I wanna see your list.

Tales of Vesperia
The Last Remnant
Lost Odyssey
Blue Dragon
Demon's Souls
Valkyria Chronicles
FF XIII

I'm not gonna add western rpgs just to be fair. Name 21 DS rpgs that are worth playing.

Beezy what 3D remakes of DQ are you talking about? They're very 2D. I'm enjoying DQ4 more than I was the SNES games I was attempting to play through.
Oh okay, then it's just the FF remakes that are in shit 3D.

terrible story
terrible writing (the translators were more talented than the writers)
average puzzles
shit graphics (that's outside of cutscenes or dialogue options)

An adventure game without good puzzles and story is basically suicide for that game. I liked the premise, but the actual game bored me to tears.

Ah, Beezy, throw in a better qualifier than "worth playing" or he's going to be able to do it.  I have 22 DS RPGs that I'd consider "worth playing" and I'm missing a ton.
I dunno, how about 21 that aren't mediocre? Then again if they're mediocre, they're most likely not worth playing.

Does EOIII have a good chance of getting localized for North America?

The World Ends With You
Etrian Odyssey 1
Etrian Odyssey 2
Mystery Dungeon Shiren the Wanderer
Advance Wars: DoR
Disgaea
Final Fantasy Tactics A2
Final Fantasy IV
Rondo of Swords
Final Fantasy XII: RW
Izuna 2
Luminous Arc
Mario & Luigi
Avalon Code
Legend of Ys
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: RoF
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Blue Dragon
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Dragon Quest IV
Dragon Quest V
Orcs and Elves
Suikoden Tierkreis

I left out almost 50 more. You can't fuck with this RPG list, much less the fire power I left off the list.
