Since we have some new people who just got the game recently, I thought we could post here with regards to availability for multi-player games. I'm new to the MP experience and how saved games and such work. It would be fun to have at least 3 or 4 people play even for an hour.

I'm usually on around 8PM til midnight.

Tonight I will likely be playing Battlefield 1943 and Modern Warfare 2, but I'm game the following evening. My brother is also down. I don't think he's touched his Xbox 360 since he bought the Civilization IV pack that went on sale on Steam.

Assuming we play tonight, how do the expansions work? Should I install them all? Do they integrate into the main game or are they each separate games?

They are separate games, but I am unsure if they require installation of Civ4.

I think you just have to own it and then Steam will download the necessary files on its own.

Started an marathon massive Ottoman game last night.

Around 520 AD I got stormed by the Mayans and French because I'd neglected to build any significant city defenses :'(

ever since buying it during the sale, i've put in around 30 hours already. uff, this is why i stayed away from the game in the first place. i used to just go over to my friend's dorm to play in order to restrain myself from being totally absorbed.

but yeh, i only have the original but i'm down for some multi action.

In the Steam window, go to games. Click 'Add non Steam game' and see if that works. I wouldn't think that there would be different online lobbies for Steam and the retail version.

I don't remember nukes having such small ranges. Fucking Mayans have built every one of their cities outside nuke range. I transported 5 ships of troops across to take a city just so I could nuke them out of existance and I can't reach them

I've built all but the Stasis Chamber of my spaceship, but now can't build it because I don't have the Apollo Project. The wonder list has my version of it it in San Diego, which belongs to the USA on a continent I've never been to.

What a waste of a game.
