I'm surprised people are always surprised when I mention that, it was well-known and well-publicized at the time.

I'm not ashamed of being a homojapual. :punch

lol remember when you tried to have your nickname changed to a non-wacky jappy one and everyone complained till you had to have it changed back?

You'll never escape your complete homojapuality. : :tbslol

They already kinda-sorta did this with FF9.  OK, not really the same thing at all, but, um, yeah.
:wtf

FF9 was developed in the US (Hawaii), albeit with a Japanese core design team (directing a lot of American and otherwise international graphics/movie people).  Same for Parasite Eve, Chocobo's Dungeon 2 and Chocobo Racing.

Wow, that explains...a lot.

I do not look forward to this future :\

Uh, FF9 and Parasite Eve are 2 of the best games they made back then.

Seriously, I stand by what I said in the gaf thread.

Give this shit to Blizzard, have them make Final Fantasy Tactics 2, make it a turn based strategy game and include what Blizz does best, but keep the core strategy rpg principles and rules and enhance them.

Release it for pc, ps3, and 360.

It would be glorious.

What? What the fuck are you talking about? FFT is the only thing Square can do right anymore!

FFTA sucks.

It really was.

FFTA really is garbage. Tactics Ogre for the GBA was a better game.

FF9 was the weakest of the PS1 FFs.  Weak battles, weak story.
I never got into PE.  To me it was just an RE1 clone with stats.

Oh I didn't read that. Yeah FFTA wasn't that good, but WotL was amazing.

Why would Blizzard choose to involve itself with what they might consider a small fry brand like Final Fantasy, especially when they have their own world-renowned games to consider? What exactly would compel them to focus on re-inventing a franchise that isn't theirs to begin with?

Yeah watching that I still don't get PE.  It looks like shitty RE clone.  Didn't like it when it came out, still don't like it now

I -wish- RE had scenarios like PE did. PE did RE2 better.

Did you guys see this yet?

Footage from Grin's Final Fantasy XII: Fortress: http://vimeo.com/6176327

It's just an audio tech demo but interesting nonetheless.
