I think it's pretty obvious that GT5 was delayed so that 3D and Move could be implemented.

I don't really care about either in GT5, so hopefully the game won't offer a competitive advantage to users with a Move controller and a 3D set...

That's less "HD" cars than Forza 3, which was made in like 2 years.

the best part is that you have things like head tracking, 3D, Move support, backseats modeled, the crazy day/night cycle (http://www.gamersyde.com/stream_gran_turismo_5_e3_hq_rally-15946_en.html) but then you have 80% of the cars from the PS2.

It's like they just gave up and threw in a bunch of old material to ship it in time, which is already years late.

The thing here is these guys barely worked.

The shit you are going to see in the final game could've been done in 2 years, but these assholes didn't work. Why did Prologue came out? Because their time wasting needed something in return.

I pop in the gamespot interview, and this motherfucker is telling me how they get invited everywhere, and then you see videos and it's the game creator and devs just doing anything related to racing besides working on the game.

Have you seen the rally video? Of course the PS3 fanboys get an hard on for the night to day transition, but all i could see was the cars being handled like cardboard boxes, and bouncing around from red tape and shit.

When you see the premium cars you will understand the work. Unlike the Forza and Xbox which couldn't handle all this detail, the team at Polyphony Digital went to extremes to make sure every car was 100% modelled down to the nuts and bolts.

Barely worked Wrika? Wtf you crazy. Read Eurogamer or others impressions, it's a little sad to hear there isn't amazing cockpit views for every car but I think more importantly they focused on different game modes, Rally, F1, Nascar and regular ol GT. I love me some Forza but from what I've seen and heard this game is going to blow it out of the water.

Whatever they are, the cars in that video Jansen linked look like crap.  The worst thing is that GT4 had multiples of every single regular car.  There's like 5 civics and half a dozen evo VII's so you're getting a lot of repainted crap.  At least put that shit on a separate disk and call it the GT Pedigree Collection or some bullshit.

First bold: No, it's not.

Second bold: I was never a huge fan of GTs physics (I simply tolerated them), but based on the GT Academy demo, I can say without a single doubt that you're completely wrong.

At this point, I'm more concerned about the number of tracks/locations than the graphical fidelity of the 'standard' cars. If the 20 courses aren't great to drive on, then they better be working on some DLC.

I couldn't take much away about the physics or handling from that vid, the driver was simply too bad. Sounds like you've played more GT than me so you can probably derive more from it. Ima just wait and see but I'm def optimistic.

(just to give a little insight)

I finished GT3, and got done with about 80-85% of GT4.

Based off of the latest GT5 demo, the physics in 5 are in a different galaxy than the physics in 3 and 4.

They shouldn't look like they are made of carboard, visually the car looks like it's sliding through the road, they are also much more agile than what GT5 seems to think they are as they in the video at least look as if they just transfered the standard driving model into it and put it on a rally track. Drifting is a big part of rally, and here just like in previous GT, everytime you enter a curve the car behaves nothing like it should.

You're talking about how the cars look VS how they feel.

I've yet to try out the rally mode in GT5, but based off of the same video that you're looking at, it looks like the problem lies within the person playing the demo rather than the demo itself.

But the night is still young so please jump to more conclusions  :sonic

I never said GT physics were 1:1 with real life physics.

What I said was the physics in GT5 are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different than the physics in GT4.

Realism in games is often measured by graphics and controls. On November 2nd, we find out exactly how real GT5 is.
