btw, there are many serviceable free comic reader apps at this stage, but Comic Zeal is the best I've tried. It's not perfect but they update regularly and it's gotten a lot better since the initial release. It's about 90% there, imho, and thus well worth the $$

Carpet is fucking ridiculous if you want something nice.  I paid $500 for two rooms with the shittiest padding underneath and some moderately priced carpet (INSTALLATION WAS FUCKING FREE!).  TWO SMALL FUCKING ROOMS.  I was going to do it myself to try to save money until I looked at prices elsewhere and realized it was close to the same and I'd be paying for installation or working my ass off so fuck it.

bought an apple ipad case

i almost skipped it since reviews were mediocre, but van cruncheon said it was pretty good

most of the other cases i was checking out were too bulky, making the ipad as thick as a coffee table book sort of defeats the purpose

i like that it's thin, and the material gives it a nice grip when holding it in portrait mode - way overpriced, but name something apple makes that isn't

most people complained about the sealed edges hurting their hands, but after holding it myself i have to wonder what kind of diabetic baby skin these people have - since i have Real Man Hands™ with callouses and such, feels fine to me

no clasp of any kind is kind of weak, but i'll probably just get a piece of elastic strap at the craft store and make a loop for it

with the cover on it fits perfectly inside my spare netbook sleeve now, so i guess i'm pretty well covered for drops of two feet or less
