nah, the only situation i could see that happening is if i happen to be around a spree shooting when one went down (i know, not likely) and i would hide behind something until he walked right by me (even less likely) then i would try to grab the guys shooting arm while going for the neck or eye socket with my knife hand, like you said what would really probably happen is he would either been going gun first around corners and blow my brains out mid lunge or maneuver the gun around my hold and plug me in the chest and stomach a bunch of times - this situation is actually why i carry when i go out, at least i wouldnt be one of those people who curl into a ball and hope he doesnt just casually decide to kill you as he stalks through the building

i would only try that if i was trapped between a shooter and an exit, if i could make a run for it then id do that, id jump out of a fucking fourth story window into a bush before id even think of trying someone like that

yeah, its not like i have a sub compact in my waistband, that guy can be the hero, the only thing a knife might (key word) save is myself if i was in that extremely narrow circumstance and window of opportunity, non police have saved the day before in the same sort of situation, some army guy had his service pistol (95% sure it was a beretta) on him for that day whatever reason, and at something like 50+ yards he hit the guy right in the head and ended it right then and there (it took him a few single action shots to connect)

Yeah, I have my CCDW but don't carry just yet.  Honestly, it's because my attire vs the size of the smaller guns that I have does not compute well.  My Sig P6 is the smallest thing I have, and it's still fairly large.  Maybe once I get a concealable holster (I've been meaning to) I'll carry, but for me it's just the peace of mind knowing that I have the permit if I ever were to think that I would be in any danger (traveling alone/small group, etc).

Yes, it's the same for me.  I have a 2000 as well (modded with custom firmware) that isn't going anywhere.  Will use the Go for new American releases that pop up on PSN, and the 2000 for everything else.  I like the Go's design and the screen is fantastic, but it's still a flawed piece of hardware.  I don't find it as comfortable to hold as the regular PSP for longer game sessions, there's no way to use another battery, PSN prices tend to suck, and there's still a number of games that are not available for purchase.  If the Japanese PSN PSP selection is anything like their PSOne selection, I bet it's much better with J-games, but you can only have one account on a PSP at a time, and it would be more costly for me to pay to get PSN cash cards from the internets to charge my J-account wallet.

But I like it for it what it is, and it's cool to be able to play games on TV with a PS3 controller.  Haven't messed with it yet, but there are also exploits available to use emulators on the Go.

The fixed the heavy red-tinted and way too light coloring from the Platinum DVD. The colors are darker and closer to the original CAPS coloring (which is what the original VHS used as well). It looks fucking unbelievable in HD.


One problem. It's not the original theatrical edition. That version is on the disc, but since they use seamless branching with the SE, the modified backgrounds remain in the "theatrical" edition.

After that is the Special Extended Edition, created for the 2002 IMAX release. The Special Edition sports some reworked background animation and the addition of a musical sequence, "Human Again", originally written for the movie but not used until the 1994 stage musical. I'm among the few Disney fans who embrace the song's addition as a meaningful glimpse into the castle characters' collective anxiety, but it isn't without its problems. During that scene, the characters clean up the dilapidating castle and restore it to glittering brilliance. That meant all of the background animation from that point on had to be reworked for the Special Edition to reflect the manor's new polish.

When the Platinum Edition DVD came around, Disney used seamless branching to switch from the theatrical cut to the new "Human Again" sequence. Immediately following that is a scene with Belle and Beast in the West Wing where the altered backgrounds are on display. With the next chapter, though, the DVD branched back to the theatrical cut and the original backgrounds, resulting in a continuity gaffe that few are likely to notice. Despite a lot more breathing room, the Blu-ray uses exactly the same maneuver.

Picked up two Arc mice on sale. I've been using one for a while now with my laptop, and now I find it hard to go back to bigger, bulkier mice. One will replace my desktop mouse, and the other will be to eventually replace my current well-worn and beat-up laptop mouse. I'm going to hate it when they eventually discontinue these things.



Picked up a 2GB USB drive so the gf can use her profile on my newer 360 when she comes over. Actually ordered two, but they only shipped one, with the other on backorder. :'( Because I got them on sale, and I'm sure 2GB thumbdrives aren't terribly in demand these days, something tells me I'm going to be waiting a while before the other comes, if ever. Wanted them because of their faster read/write speeds compared to other cheapo USB drives.
